Video shows cop firing STUN gun on Black delivery driver who filmed his traffic stop
A Tennessee police officer was captured in a video firing his stun gun on a Black delivery guy who began filming his traffic stop for speeding. The incident took place in Collegedale, Tennessee, near Chattanooga on Thursday, March 10. Delane Gordon, a DoorDash delivery driver was accused of speeding, resisting arrest, and obstruction of justice, according to his attorney Ryan Wheeler. The cop has still not been identified.
According to the attorney Ryan Wheeler, Delane began filming the incident after he ‘felt unsafe’ during the traffic check by the police officer. The tape begins with the cop pointing the taser at Delane, who is seated in the car, holding his driver's license. The officer repeatedly yells "Get out!" to which Delane replied, "I have my driver's license."

"Sir, I feel uncomfortable; please get your supervisor," Gordon said in the video. "I don't give a s**t what you feel like. I said get out," the officer responded.
The footage shows the officer grabbing Delane’s neck and pulling him out of his car before firing the stun gun. “You refused to give your information," the policeman fires back. "I told you to get out of the car. Now you’re resisting. Get out!” Delane then requests him to "get your supervisor."
“I don’t give an (expletive) what you feel like. I said get out," the officer says before grabbing Gordon and trying to yank him out of the car. The officer then uses the gun to shoot Delane. “Oh my God, that’s not lawful sir. That’s not lawful,” the victim responded after he was shot by the taser.

According to Delane’s lawyer Attorney Ryan Wheeler, he was released after posting his bond. Lt Jamie Heath of the Collegedale Police Department stated that the anonymous officer has not been placed on leave.
In a statement released at a press conference, Wheeler said: “Simply asking, ‘Hey, can you explain to me why I’m being pulled over?’ or any exchange of that nature shouldn’t be met with immediate escalation, shouldn’t be met with, I guess, an officer interpreting that exchange as a challenge to his authority,” adding that “That speaks to the temperament and mentality of an officer.”
According to Wheeler, Delane has no past criminal record and has never posed a danger to the officer, and was courteous during his encounter. He stated that their main goal is to raise awareness and free Delane of the allegations. He stated that he was certain it will happen.
