LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A video has gone viral that shows a Los Angeles 'Karen' humiliating and stopping a Black delivery man from entering her building. The video of the incident was originally shared by the delivery man, Jordan Myke Gipson, on his Instagram; he was making a Postmates delivery to a resident in the building when the racist encounter happened. The first clip of the encounter showed the unidentified woman asking Gipson why he was wearing a "green thing" over his face. “Because you are hiding something yeah I don't know. Is this a hold up or something?" the old woman was heard questioning the delivery man who was wearing a green cloth as a mask because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The second video posted on the social media site showed the woman blocking the way for Gipson as she said: "I'm glad I was here. We don't buzz people in.” The woman also asked the man to not film her. "Don't point that sh*t at me,” she was heard saying referring to the phone he was using to record. However, when Gipson told her, “I have food I have to deliver to somebody ma'am”, the woman replied: “Don't deliver anything here. We don't want you delivering. I don't want you here. I don’t want you here at all."

The delivery man then asked, “So you’re not going to let me in to deliver this food? I have the number,” as he entered the number on the keypad. The customer, named Paul, then responded to the call and Gipson told him through the intercom: “There’s a woman at the door.” But in between the woman interfered and asked the tenant, “Hello, who is this? Who is on the speaker? I live here in this building." Shocked at the woman’s behavior, Gipson told the woman, “Excuse me, can you back away from me now?”

But the woman did not back off and told Paul, “I’m not letting this man in, can I bring your food to you?” “Who are you, who is this?” asked the seemingly confused tenant. The woman told him rudely, “I live here assh*le and I pay rent here," to which Paul replied that he also paid the rent. “I’m asking you to get out of my building because you don’t live here,” said the woman, rounding on the deliveryman.

When Gipson tried to explain to Paul the situation, the woman again interfered and said, “I don’t care if he’s a purple man! He doesn’t live here. I don’t know him and I don’t want people buzzing him into my building … he’s not a delivery boy, he has no car, no bike, nothing.”

Not just that, the woman dubbed as ‘Karen’ by Gipson, went on to claim that he was not a delivery man because he didn't get out of a car, bike, or ride-hailing service. Gipson then pointed towards his white sedan parked near the building. "He's a black guy walking around who has a clicker to get into any building he wants to,” the woman said before asking the man to stop the recording. “Can you not film me? I'll be behind you because I don't want you filming me.”

Gipson again called Paul, who then at the end of the video came down to get his food. By that time, the woman’s attitude also suddenly changed as she asked the man: “How old are you. 27? You're my son's age. You play ball? He plays basketball.”
