MOSCOW, IDAHO: New bodycam footage has revealed that authorities previously responded to a party at the house where four University of Idaho students were murdered. In the early morning hours of November 13, Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, 20, were stabbed to death in an off-campus three-story rented home. Law enforcement is yet to identify the suspect(s) in the case. Authorities have said that the gory scene where the students were killed was the “worst they’ve ever seen."
The video, obtained by the true crime YouTube channel 'Truth & Transparency', shows Moscow police officers addressing a noise complaint at 1122 King Road on the night of September 1. The officers knock on the door for about 10 minutes, following which they are greeted by a party of young people. One of them informs the cops that the residents are not home.

“They left and went to another party,” a man tells the officers. He was possibly referring to Mogen, Goncalves, Kernodle, and their two other housemates. The officer asks the students to "quit [playing] games", and then manages to contact Mogen. Mogen, who identifies herself as "Maddie", can be heard speaking to an officer over the phone. She can be heard saying she was “so sorry” for the inconvenience. “I’m just frustrated,” she tells the officer. It is unclear where Mogen was at that moment but the officer urges her to “just come home".
This week, the FBI reportedly added 30 extra agents to the case. It was recently revealed that the lead investigator in the Idaho murders is reportedly 32-year-old US Army veteran Brett Payne, who joined the Moscow Police Department in 2020, just two years ago.
