What is the lingerie like?
This year around, Victoria's Secret has 7 categories to choose from, each of which is very different from the other. The designers have experimented with prints and pops of colors and the show also features a collaboration with designer Mary Katrantzou. Katrantzou brings in a burst of floral elements to the traditional lace negligee giving this year's runway show the freshness it needs.
The categories include:
Glam Royale, which is the perfect mix of posh and punky. An exploration of tartan, expect to see a lot of red, lace, Argyle, Gingham and exaggerated belts with gold accents. Golden Angel which is a mixture of rich brocades and lace with an urban fashion twist. The collection features foiled detailing with three-dimensional gold embroidery. Gucci, Etro, Prada, Dolce, Off-White and tribute t-shirts galore.
Flights of Fancy is a collection that oozes feminine sparkle, romantic, sherbet tones, lots of diamond embroidery. Inspired by Valentino Couture, Schiaparelli, Francesco Scognamiglio, nudes, and pastels.
There's Floral Fantasy which is the Katrantzou collaboration, is an exploration of Victoria’s Secret heritage; the iconic pink and white stripe, logos and symbols mixed with bright florals.
Downtown Angel is rooted in street style, this category features oversized, sculpted puffer coats intermixed with exaggerated performance wear shapes paired with Victoria Sport. A bold black pallet with punches of flora. Powerfully feminine, seductive and strong, this one has techno fabrics, neoprene, and nylon.
Celestial Angel is this year's dreamy collection. Inspired by the stars, this collection is all about midnight skies, mixed metals, gold and silvers, dreamscapes and the moon. Foiled laces, transparent and diaphanous fabrics make you think about McQueen, Dior, and Valentino.
Pink segment has more logos than last year and is better with bold, bright neon colors, fun patterns, and playful techno fabrics.
