'Vagabond' week 5 sees Go Hae-ri and Cha Dal-geon try and find their way out after realizing the government's conspiracy

'Vagabond' week 5 serves as a turning point in Go Hae-ri's life as she realizes that the government that she is serving is in on the plane crash conspiracy.

'Vagabond' week 5 saw a lot of action take place as Go Hae-ri (Bae Suzy), Cha Dal-geon (Lee Seung-gi) and Gi Tae-ung (Shin Sung-rok) along with one of the chief agents of NIS, Gang Joo-Cheol (Lee Ki-Young) take on the government.

In the last week's episodes, we saw the identity of Shadow revealed as the President's secretary of 15 years, Yun Han-Ki (Kim Min-Jong). He supports Jessica Lee's (Moon Jeong-Hee) company Park and Lee for acquiring fighter jets against another stronger and fairer bid from Dynamic owned by Edward Park (Lee Kyoung-Young). In an attempt to thwart the bid from Dynamic, Jessica and Shadow hatch a plan and that is how the plane to Morocco ended in a crash. It was manufactured by Dynamic and the original plan was to blame bad quality engines to remove them from the competition. With Dal-geon's interference though, we saw the truth come to light. However, things are getting messier by the minute in the latest episodes.

In episode 9 and 10, we see Jessica, NIS senior agent Min Jae-Sik (Jeong Man-Sik), Shadow and Jessica's assistant Hong Seung-Beom (Kim Jung-Hyun) plan the plane's co-pilot Kim Woo-gi's (Jang Hyuk-Jin) death to prevent him from turning into a witness against them. They also turn Woo-gi's wife Oh Sang-mi (Kang Kyung-Hun) against her husband with a combination of blackmail and more payment. So Sang-mi comes out about the truth about the plane crash, confesses everything but puts the blame squarely with Dynamic for planning the entire attack instead of Park and Lee.

This leads to an investigation into Dynamic and Edward Park while the NIS team in Morocco is trying hard to keep Woo-gi alive. Initially, Tae-ung is with Hae-ri and Dal-geon when it comes to saving Woo-gi and even helped Dal-geon give him blood to him. However, upon hearing from the Director of NIS, General An (Kim Jong-Soo) about the planned attack on the co-pilot, he takes a back seat because he has been ordered to do so and lets Hae-ri and Dal-geon escape with Woo-gi to make sure someone is able to keep at the trail of the truth, if not himself. That is also why he helps Hae-ri and Dal-geon escape the attack team that was sent in to kill Woo-gi and Dal-geon, but he doesn't want the truth to be known so he ends up playing his part of a loyal government agent and returns to South Korea while Hae-ri and Dal-geon take a roundabout route.

Jae-sik also plans an attack on Joo-cheol who is in NIS custody and tries to poison him to death. However, towards the end of the week's episodes, it looks like Joo-cheol outsmarted his colleague and is now carrying out a secret mission away from the prying eyes of the government since he has also become aware of Shadow's involvement and his identity as well. He has planted agents who now work in Jae-sik's team and the trap is clearly to capture the mastermind behind the terror attack and bring the truth to light. With Shadow and the cunning Prime Minister Hong Soon-Jo (Moon Sung-Geun) near the president making major decisions for him, things are going to be quite difficult for Dal-geon, Hae-ri and Joo-cheol to plan it all.

For now, though, Joo-cheol's plan is to divert attention from Woo-gi and distract Jae-sik to allow Hae-ri and Dal-geon time to sneak Woo-gi in without being noticed by Jessica and her cohorts. From here to Dal-geon becoming an agent behind a sniper - it is going to be interesting to watch.

The next episodes of 'Vagabond' can be streamed on Netflix on Friday and Saturday. Episodes 11 and 12 will air on SBS at 10 pm KST (9 am ET).
