First Lady Melania Trump looked elegant in a $4,500 chain-print Gucci dress as she cast her ballot in Palm Beach County, Florida. The 50-year-old former supermodel made quite the statement as she voted in-person around 10 am local time on Election Day.

Melania was seen in a video shared arriving to vote at the Morton and Barbara Mandel Recreation Center. She was reportedly wearing an ensemble that included her silk Gucci dress, accessorized with "nude pointed-toe Christian Louboutin heels," and a "pair of tortoiseshell shades." Meanwhile, her hair was styled in a low up-do and she completed the elegant look with a canvas-and-leather Hermes Kelly bag, which is likely to be worth around $17,000.

The first lady gave a quick smile and wave to reporters and photographers as she walked past them. After voting, she stopped briefly for photos and told reporters she was feeling "great." Melania was asked why she didn't vote with her husband last week. “It’s Election Day, so I wanted to come here to vote today for the election," she responded.

According to Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Wendy Link, who oversaw Trump's ballot being cast, said the entire process went smoothly. "It only took her a few minutes," Link told the Palm Beach Post. President Donald Trump, who moved his official address from New York to battleground Florida last year, voted early when he visited the state on Saturday, October 31. He later told reporters that it was "an honor" to be voting and that he cast a "very secure vote." When asked who he voted for, the president quipped: "I voted for a guy named Trump!"

According to TargetSmart, Democrats led Republicans 55% to 34% in nationwide votes on October 12. However, the latter have reportedly narrowed the advantage each day since. Democrats accounted for 40% of Florida's 8.3 million early votes, while Republicans made up 38% and voters with no party affiliation 21%. Meanwhile, Democrats returned 46% of the state's absentee ballots while Republicans returned only 31%. However, for in-person voting, the numbers flipped to 46% for Republicans and 32% for Democrats, according to the US Elections Project.

The first lady spoke to hundreds of Trump supporters in Huntersville, North Carolina on Monday, November 2, praising her husband's leadership in light of the Covid-19 pandemic and ridiculing Democratic challenger Joe Biden's four-decades long record in public life. "On Tuesday, I am asking that you continue to put your trust in our president," she told a crowd of masked supporters at a popular venue near Lake Norman, per the White House pool report. "We’ve had three and a half years of winning. Let’s have another four," she said to cheers from an impassioned audience.

A Huntersville police officer who was part of Melania's motorcade was hospitalized before the said speech with non-life-threatening injuries after reportedly being involved in a collision with another vehicle. Local police said there was no threat to the first lady or anyone else in her motorcade.
