US Coast Guard searches for 3 American sailors reported missing for over 10 days in Mexico
CABO SAN LUCAS, MEXICO: Three American sailors have reportedly gone missing as per the US Coast Guard news release on Friday, April 14. At present, the department along with the Mexican Navy is carrying out search operations as they were last heard from on April 4, near Mazatlan, Mexico. The missing persons were aboard the sailing vessel ‘Ocean Bound’, which is a 44-foot La Fitte that left Mazatlan en route to San Diego.
As per their planned journey, the sailors were to stop in Cabo San Lucas on April 6 for provisions and followed by reporting before continuing to San Diego. However, as per the release, no record could be found of them arriving in Cabo San Lucas or reporting in regarding their current location. It was on Saturday, April 15, the US Coast Guard's Northern California division shared information and pictures of the missing sailors and their vessel. “The Mexican Navy, with the assistance of the #USCG, is searching for three American sailors, last heard from April 4, near Mazatlan, MX. en route to San Diego. Kerry and Frank O'Brien and William Gross were sailing aboard the 44-foot S/V Ocean Bound,” the department tweeted.

'Urgent marine broadcasts have been issued'
"Search and rescue coordinators contacted marinas throughout Baja, Mexico, with negative sightings of the vessel," as per the US Coast Guard's press release. "Urgent marine broadcasts have been issued over VHF radio requesting all mariners to keep a look out for the missing persons and the vessel," reports CBS News.
