First lady Melania Trump used her position to renegotiate her prenup with husband Donald Trump. A new book titled 'The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump' by author Mary Jordan says that her original marital agreement with Trump was not very financially generous but that Melania used the fact she had been married to Trump for longer than any of his previous wives to renegotiate, Daily Mail reports.

The pair married on January 22, 2005, at the Episcopal Church of Bethesda by the sea in Florida. They held their reception at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate. It was Melania's first marriage while it was Trump's third. He had previously been married to Ivana Trump and Marla Maples. Melania had used the fact that she has an ability to calm Trump down to be able to redo an agreement which was 'more to her liking', the book claims. "She is... much more like him than it appears," Jordan wrote in the book.

Excerpts from the book obtained by The Washington Post on Friday, June 12, seemingly confirmed the rumor that Melania had the prenup reworked and only then agreed to move into the White House after Trump became president. Trump's infidelities and news about the same from various social media accounts also reportedly affected Melania, who needed some time to 'cool off', the book claims. Trump's affair with Playboy playmate Karen McDougal and his 'grab them by the p****' comment did not sit well with his wife either.

While POTUS has denied any rumors of him cheating, reports of his affair with Stormy Daniels emerged in 2018 and seemed to prove otherwise. After Trump's affair with Daniels came to light, Melania had abruptly canceled her plans to join her husband in Davos for the annual conference. She had also renegotiated the prenup to ensure that her son with Trump, Barron Trump, would be treated equally to the other older Trump children, the book reveals. Jordan has based the book on interviews with more than 100 people in at least five countries.

In the book, Jordan wrote, "She wanted proof in writing that when it came to financial opportunities and inheritance, Barron would be treated as more of an equal to Trump's oldest three children." Barron was 10 years old when Trump was elected as POTUS. Melania had only moved into the White House in June 2017, around six months after Trump took oath of office. It is said she had used that time to renegotiate her prenup agreement. The book also says that she wanted Barron to finish his school year in New York.

However, Melania's office has dubbed the book as 'fiction'. Melania's chief of staff Stephanie Grisham released a statement to Daily Mail and said, "Yet another book about Mrs Trump with false information and sources. This book belongs in the fiction genre." The White House has called the story "totally false". Press secretary Judd Deere said in a statement, "This is totally false. The media is once again running untrue information from anonymous sources and not once did anyone fact check this with the White House or Ivanka Trump."

Jordan has described the first lady as being focused, ruthless and ambitious from the time she was an aspiring model to being First Lady of the United States. "She would seize an opportunity and put great effort into it. Then she would move on and never look back," the author said.
