An American Airlines flight that was set to carry passengers from LA to DC, was forced to make an emergency landing in Kansas City after a passenger's display of extremely erratic behavior. The passenger, whose behavior could not be explained in any manner, was reportedly trying to break into the cockpit before turning his attention towards an exit door.

The man, reportedly middle-aged, has not yet been identified by police. However, he was arrested after the flight's emergency landing in Kansas City and the passengers were rebooked into another flight. Mouaz Moustafa, a passenger who was onboard Flight 1775, said that he had heard a commotion among flight attendants who were trying to subdue the passenger. Passengers of the flight had also rushed to help hold the 'erratic' man down. American Airlines was also in the news after a British passenger has claimed that she was kicked off from her flight to New York just because she was severely allergic to nuts. In another instance, a drunk Bengals fan was kicked off a Frontier Airlines flight over a Super Bowl dispute.

Moustafa in a series of tweets uploaded on Feb 12 also told that a flight attendant had to strike the man on the head with a coffee pot to keep him from breaking into the cockpit and getting to the emergency door. He wrote sharing a video from the flight: "Passengers held the individual and a flight attendant used a coffee pot to subdue him as the plane descended rapidly. the man was bleeding as the police in this video are taking him off the flight after landing in Kansas #AA1775."

Moustafa also took photos of the man being restrained on the floor with a video of FBI investigators talking to the passengers after the man in question had been removed from the aircraft. In two tweets he mentioned how scared the other passengers were with the rapid speed of the flight's descent. He wrote: "The flight descended 30 thousand feet in about minutes. Flight was dropping and veering as people struggled to subdue the individual attempting to open the door of the plane. Usual descent is 500-700 but our plane was descending at 5000!!!" In the second he shared: "Here is a video of our flights path as we descended from 30,900 feet in less than 8 minutes as we spirals passengers struggled to hold the man. Everyone on the plane thought it was the end for everybody #AA1775."

He later informed that "the FBI have boarded flight #AA1775 and are going through the scene after a flight attendant used a coffee pot to strike a middle aged man multiple times who was attempting to open the plane door."

Among other passengers who were also flying to DC in Flight 1775, Karen Alston shared that her movie was interrupted by the lights abruptly turning on above her head before she saw a few passengers rushing toward the front of the plane. Another passenger, Jake Smith, said that he was headed toward the lavatory when he spotted a flight attendant running 'full speed down the aisle.'

After the incident, American Airlines released a statement referring to the incident onboard Flight 1775, announcing that the plane had landed safely in Kansas City. "American Airlines flight 1775 with service from Los Angeles (LAX) to Washington, D.C. (DCA) diverted to Kansas City (MCI) due to an unruly passenger," their statement said. "The flight landed safely at MCI at 2:28 p.m. local time, and law enforcement was requested to meet the flight on arrival," it added. "We're grateful to our crew members, who are consistently dedicated to the safety and care of our customers and who handled the circumstances with the utmost skill and professionalism," the statement also mentioned.
