'Unpolished': Lexi Martone creates a tea party on client's nails, fans call it 'f*****g fantastic'

Here are all the details about the out-of-the-world design she created for Kelly, a mother who wanted to look the best at a surprise party for her 12-year-old

Lexi Martone once again proved that she is a creative genius. Tuesday night's episode saw a client named Kelly walk into Salon Martone with a rather quirky wish. Her daughter had stayed locked in for a long period of time during the pandemic and Kelly was throwing her a rather fancy party. In order to look and feel the best, she decided to avail services of Lexi Martone and Bria Martone for the same.

As the theme was Alice in Wonderland, the whole tea party sequence and both the sisters came up with the concept about Kelly's makeup look and nails. 

Lexi decided to put the whole tea party on Kelly's nails, including floating cups, teapots and snacks. She spent the whole night at the salon designing the nails because the cash flow needed to ensure their lives go on per usual even in the absence of Big Mike and the inflow of pending bills, the ones that the late Martone patriarch used to take care of completely. Lexi had completed the majority of the design in advance; just the finishing touches on the pink teapot that she was going to attach to Kelly's nails using a magnet was left for the end. That caused a major hiccup for her.

Lexi is the queen of nail art and is known for her crazy techniques and unimaginable designs. However, the best ones, too, have their weak moments and she had a tough time because of the complexities involved in the design.

Lexi glued the magnet onto the wrong side of the teapot. The pressure was mounting as Kelly was already at the salon, just a couple of hours prior to her daughter's party, ready to get her nails, hair and makeup done. Unfortunately, Lexi had found herself in a soup. She somehow bought a little more time and managed to pull it off well. Kelly was happy with her overall look. 

People watching the episode too couldn't believe how beautiful those nails were that Lexi created and took to Twitter to praise her for them. "That doggone Lexi is the Queen & the King with that design!! Beyond awesome!!!#Unpolished," wrote a fan. "The tea party nails are fuckin’ fantastic!!! #Unpolished@leximartone @TLC," wrote another. "Ok @leximartone those tea party nails are errythanggg but I wanna know how this lady drove home #Unpolished," wrote another. 

'Unpolished' airs on Tuesday at 10 pm ET on TLC.
