MEMPHIS, TENNESSE: A protest broke out all over the US on January 27 after the officials in Memphis released bodycam footage of the brutal beating of Tyre Nichols. Memphis’ police commissioner warned that the video showed “acts that defy humanity.”
After the troubling video was released, protesters charged and shut down the Memphis-Arkansas bridge from both directions and refused to clear out the highway causing traffic to back up for miles, the Daily Caller reported. At least a dozen people assembled in freezing cold outside a police precinct in Chicago on January 27, Friday night to protest the killing of Tyre Nichols, as reported by USA Today.
