LORIS, SOUTH CAROLINA: The wife of Tyler Doyle, 22, who disappeared four months ago, has given birth to their first child. Tyler, a South Carolina boater, was last seen on January 26, 2023, while he was duck hunting on a boat that capsized in rough waters near the coast of North Myrtle Beach.
At the time of his disappearance, Tyler's wife, Lakelyn Doyle, was pregnant. In April 2023, she gave birth to their daughter. The couple had planned to name their baby Paisley Grace, as indicated by their social media posts prior to Tyler's disappearance, as reported by The Sun News.

Lakelyn wanted to stop receiving GoFundMe donations amid rumors
In the aftermath of her husband's disappearance, a GoFundMe page was created by a family friend named Hannah Faulk to support Lakelyn, who was pregnant at the time and help alleviate financial concerns. However, Lakelyn later requested that the page be shut down, citing "rumors and everything going around" as the reason.
In a statement posted by Faulk in February 2023, she explained Lakelyn's decision, saying, "She would rather go without than deal with drama and rumors while she's actively searching for her missing husband... As a woman who is 30 weeks pregnant, she can't handle everyone's opinions and the stress on her body for the baby's sake." The specific rumors that prompted Lakelyn to request the fundraiser's closure remain unclear.
Tyler's brother slammed rumors after his missing
The brother of the missing man, Reed Doyle, took to Facebook to address the spread of rumors about his brother, expressing his frustration towards those involved. On January 31, Tyler's wallet, waders, and duck decoys were found approximately two miles offshore. However, there have been no further signs of him since the discovery of these items, as reported by The Sun News. The South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, in an interview with the outlet, stated, "Our officers, during a routine patrol, continue to search for Tyler Doyle," and emphasized that their tactics remain unchanged. Authorities do not suspect foul play in the case.
In April 2023, Tyler's family announced that he had been included in the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NAMUS). At the time of his disappearance, Tyler was wearing a white t-shirt, khaki pants, and a camouflage float coat. The 22-year-old has brown hair, blue eyes, weighs approximately 200 pounds, and is between 5'9" and 5'10" tall, as reported by the New York Post.
