MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA: A woman from Melbourne claims that two of her cherished Pomeranians were attacked and killed while in the care of a trusted pet sitter, leaving her and her family traumatized. Mrs Mobin, who did not reveal her first name, told that she left her two dogs, Coco and Candy, at the pet sitter's house on November 19 while she traveled to Qatar to watch the FIFA World Cup, reported Nine News. "We had used the dog-sitter a few times before when she lived in her previous home. I was happy that she knew my dogs," Mobin said.

According to Mobin, the pet sitter was providing regular reports on how her dogs were doing while she was away in Qatar, and everything seemed to be going smoothly until Mobin received a panicked call from the pet sitter. "She was crying and saying 'we have a situation,'" Mobin said. It is understood that while the pet sitter was out shopping, two American Staffordshire Terriers from next door had chewed a hole in the wooden fence and attacked the two dogs. Mobin, who immediately boarded a flight home, claimed that the neighbor laughed at her when she allegedly confronted him about housing the dangerous dogs, as per the news outlet.

The devastated owner told that her family has been confined to their home since the tragedy, crying and using sleeping pills to get through, reported Daily Mail. She claimed that her 19-year-old daughter, who used to sleep with the dogs in the bed, was in "shock." "She's not eating, she's not going to university, not doing anything, she is just having panic attacks," said Mobin. "I took her to the hospital and she is taking a lot of sleeping tablets to calm her down, she is just crying and crying every day," she added.

The pet sitter informed Mobin that Coco and Candy had been attacked by two dogs thought to be American Staffies that lived next door to her. Mobin took a 13-hour flight home the next day and said the whole family was "shocked and traumatized." Mobin went to the vet hospital to see her adored pets as soon as she touched down in Melbourne. "My Coco was cut from the neck, it was like a knife," said Mobin.

Coco was rushed to the vet but could not be saved, while Candy was nowhere to be seen. "The dog sitter was saying 'I'm sure that Candy is at the dog owner's house' but he is not letting us go in and find her," Mobin said. When she went up to the neighbor's house to confront the man, she claimed he verbally abused her and laughed at her. When Mobin sent her friends to the dog owner's home to hunt for Candy, the owner allegedly refused to let them in as well.

Victoria police found Candy's body in the man's backyard when they went to the property to search the premises on Saturday, November 26. A Whittlesea Council representative stated that the incident is under investigation. It is yet to be known if the dogs involved in the alleged attack have been seized.
