Tucker Carlson calls Grammys 'WAP' performance a 'lesbian sex scene', Candace Owens slams it as 'pornography'
Fox News host Tucker Carlson has taken offense to Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion’s Grammy ‘WAP’ performance and said "It's hard not to conclude they're intentionally trying to degrade our culture and hurt our children."
In a conversation with conservative author Candace Owens, the news host branded the performance as "pornographic". An anti-porn group also slammed CBS’ decision for greenlighting “sexually regressive and exploitative material in the broadcast.”

Owens also called the Grammy performance "essentially pornography". She stated, “Virtually, what we were looking at last night was a lesbian sex scene being simulated on television, and this is considered feminist.” "This feels more sinister. This is starting to me to seem like it's not even left or right, it's not a political issue. This seems like an attack on American values, American traditions, and you're actually actively trying to make children aspire to things that are grotesque," she said, calling it a celebration of "perversity".
They went on to claim, "You have these kids learning about critical race theory, they're learning that they should aspire to people like Cardi B. You see that fundamentally we are seeing the destruction of American values, American principles." Carlson added that the ‘WAP’ performance was "totally degrading. And the same people who make it will lecture you about 'you hate women' or something."
An anti-porn group called National Center on Sexual Exploitation joined Carlson released a statement that said, “Beyond the troubling implications for families who were watching (a significant audience for the Grammys), the onstage presentation of Cardi B—in conjunction with Megan Thee Stallion (a performance that was also #1 on YouTube’s Trending List on March 15)—highlights long-standing issues of systemic racial and sexual injustice that still pervade in our society and which are grossly profited on by corporations such as CBS (and many others).”
In another statement, Dawn Hawkins, senior vice president and executive director of the National Center on Sexual Exploitation said, “In a performance that could have been cut from a hardcore pornography film, CBS allowed a glamorization of stripping and prostitution to be broadcast in front of a national audience – a portion of which were children – for no other reason than for TV ratings.”
Dawkins added, “Despite the 'popularity' of the song performed by Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, CBS should have never allowed this kind of explicit performance to happen at the Grammys.” The statement further read, “Prostitution and stripping are never empowering for women, as they set up systems that exploit and oppress women. CBS has contributed to furthering the sexual exploitation of women and contributed to the ‘normalization’ of porn culture.”
Carlson’s statement has received a mixed response from social media users with some thanking him for bringing up the issue while others stated that adult women demanding sexual pleasure should be normalized.
A user stated, “Yeah, gods forbid two adult women write and perform a song about adult women demanding and expecting sexual pleasure. Don’t want those girls growing up expecting sex to be something they enjoy not just something their partner does to them.” Another added, “Everyone that’s upset about this performance was okay with the former guy talking about grabbing women by the pussy.”

Speaking on the anti-porn group’s claim, a user said, “Sex doesn’t lead to rape. Sexual themes don’t lead to sexual abuse. This is ridiculous.” Another said, “Well this escalated quickly. You get prostitution from this? Oh yes, yes you would. And we know why, not quite palatable for your liking. Please use this same energy to find missing women and children and cracking down these sex trafficking and pedophilia rings…”
