Ivana says she's afraid after 'careless' Trump was hospitalized: 'He didn't think it would happen to him'
President Donald Trump was taken to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on Friday, October 2 night after he tested positive for Covid-19. Many Trump supporters took to prayers for the president as they stood outside Walter Reed while a few others wished him ill fate. Among the few speaking out on their thoughts on the president's health was his ex-wife Ivana Trump, who in an exclusive with PEOPLE, said she was 'stressed' and 'afraid' over her ex-husband's hospitalization.
According to the article, Ivana is said to be in close contact with her three children she shares with Trump — Donald Trump Jr, Eric Trump, and Ivanka Trump — and is looking out for any updates on the president's health. She reportedly told PEOPLE, “It’s a very difficult time, it's a stress." She revealed that she had spoken to her children and they too were "worried."
Trump had announced on October 2 morning that he had tested positive for the virus with his wife, First Lady Melania Trump. The tweet read, "Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for Covid-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!" Trump's ex-wife also revealed that while she gets updates from her three kids, she wouldn't share that information publicly. “I just hope he’s going to get out of it and be healthy. But who knows what will happen, because I don’t know anything about this virus and nobody else does and nobody knows how to cure it," she said. She also added, “I am afraid. I’m going to be afraid until he gets well and he gets out of it.”

There have been conflicting views on the president's health as Dr Sean Conley, the White House physician, said on October 3 morning that Trump was suffering from “mild symptoms” while White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows had later said that Trump's situation was “very concerning” on October 2 and that “the next 48 hours will be critical in terms of his care."
Ivana told PEOPLE that Trump was "careless" — “He didn’t think it would happen to him," she added. While she admitted that her ex-husband's diagnosis came as “a little bit of a shock”, she also went on to say that he was “the cleanest, healthiest person.” She had also added that her ex-husband's only weakness is food but otherwise he was "very healthy" — "always washes his hands and always is careful."
Conley had also previously backed Ivana's statement when he had said that the president had "great" cholesterol levels and blood pressure — “He's 74, he's male, and he is slightly overweight. Other than that, he's very healthy," he had said.
Ivana also weighed in on her ex-husband's presidential run saying that while the first presidential debate was "catastrophic on both sides" she believes that "he will win" — "There’s no question about it.". About the debate, she told PEOPLE, “Donald was not well, and Biden was not well at all, so it was just a horrible, horrible debate. I don’t know what people took out of it, but it left me totally empty.”
