Trump schedule empty of events as busy Joe Biden holds pressers, Internet says 'POTUS to pass time watching news'
In the aftermath of President Donald Trump losing the 2020 election, the public schedules of the outgoing POTUS and president-elect Joe Biden look vastly different. Although it might not be surprising to see a soon-to-be-ex leader of the country taking it easy in the last few weeks left at the White House, the situation is different this time as the US reels under a raging pandemic and a commander-in-chief who refuses to concede the presidential race or come to terms with the fact that he just became a one-term president.
CNN reporter Daniel Dale tweeted out a screenshot of Trump's daily schedule for Tuesday, November 17, under the caption: "Here’s Trump’s public schedule for tomorrow. (Public schedules don’t include all of a president’s activities.)" The screenshot of the printed schedule just contained a single line: "The president has no public events scheduled." In the same Twitter thread, Dale also posted Biden's schedule for Tuesday. Although there were reports of the Trump administration making a smooth transition of the future president's team nearly impossible as all top officials were ordered not to cooperate with Biden, the latter has been keeping busy trying his best to implement his plans and policies.
"Biden schedule guidance: 'On Tuesday, November 17, President-elect Joe Biden will receive a briefing on national security in Wilmington, Delaware, which will include a photo spray. Vice President-elect Kamala Harris will also participate.'" Dale's tweet read. When one of the users asked the reporter, "But who is giving the briefing? It seems like an important point. Can you find out if its the trump administration finally doing the right thing, or something else," he responded, "Biden’s national security briefing is not an official government briefing. He’ll be briefed by outside diplomatic, intelligence, and defense experts, a transition official tells @ArletteSaenz"

Many people reacted to the tweet, mocking Trump for essentially choosing to do nothing and spend his time idly as he waits for the new administration to take over. "The American people need a president to takes the job seriously!!! It’s sooo frustrating!!" one of the users remarked, while another said, "So he won’t concede but he definitely quit!" A third pointed out, "He's going to put on his noise-canceling headphones and bang out that health care plan he's been promising."
Alluding to his repeated false claim that he won the election, someone wrote, "His daily tweet 'I won the election' will most certainly be on his schedule tomorrow!" The next commented, "It should be criminal negligence to do nothing in the midst of a national health emergency." Another said, "The man has not done the work of President since he has been elected." One person quipped, "They should tell the truth! The President will spend his time watching cable news!" One user said, "I know pet goldfish with busier schedules than this."

Although Biden has mostly chosen to take the high road when it comes to commenting on the POTUS' refusal to concede, he told reporters on Monday in Delaware, in a news conference that Trump's unwillingness to accept the outcome of the election could hamper his administration's ability to rapidly distribute a coronavirus vaccine. "More people may die if we don't coordinate," Biden said. "It would make it a lot easier if the President were to participate. I am hopeful that the President will be mildly more enlightened before we get to January 20."
