President Donald Trump's niece, Mary Trump, took a dig at his uncle after he lashed out at her and called her a "mess" following the release of her tell-all memoir. Mary, in a tweet, referred to Trump's fascination with television ratings on Friday, July 17, writing: "5.23 million v. 5.11 million." The numbers reportedly referred to the views Mary's interview with MSNBC's Rachel Maddow received against the president's town hall with Fox News' Sean Hannity in June.

Mary, along with her tweet, also added the hashtag "#seldomseen," in an apparent reference to the president's declaration that she was a "seldom seen niece." The 55-year-old's tweet comes after the president slammed her and former National Security Advisor John Bolton on Friday over their tell-all memoirs about him. The Republican leader, in a Twitter tirade, claimed that he is the "ultimate member of The Book of the Month Club" because of the recent damning stories told about him in the recent books.

Trump initially slammed Bolton, calling him a "lowlife dummy" and a "warmongering fool" and accused him of breaking the law. The Republican then slammed his niece, calling her a "mess" and claiming that his parents could not stand her. Trump also accused Mary of breaking the law. "I am the ultimate member of The Book of the Month Club," Trump wrote in a tweet. "First I have lowlife dummy John Bolton, a warmongering fool, violating the law (he released massive amounts of Classified Information) and an NDA in order to build badly needed credibility and make a few dollars, which will all end up going to the government anyway."

"Next up is Mary Trump, a seldom-seen niece who knows little about me, says untruthful things about my wonderful parents (who couldn’t stand her!) and me, and violated her NDA," he continued. "She also broke the Law by giving out my tax Returns. She’s a mess! Many books have been written about me, some good, some bad. Both happily and sadly, there will be more to come!"

Mary's scathing memoir about her uncle has reportedly sold nearly a million copies from preorders alone. Publisher Simon & Schuster, in a statement, revealed that her book titled 'Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created the World's Most Dangerous Man,' sold a company record of 950,000 copies earlier this week, in combined print, digital and audio editions as of its date of sale. Bolton's memoir, titled 'The Room Where It Happened', which was also published by Simon & Schuster, sold nearly 800,000 copies in its first week last month.

The White House had attempted to stop publication of both the books, alleging that Bolton had revealed classified information while Mary had violated a nondisclosure agreement. Requests for injections were denied in each case. Mary, in her book, has claimed that her uncle used the N-word and anti-Semitic slurs and that the entire family engaged in casual bigotry throughout her childhood. She wrote that her family engaged in as "a knee-jerk anti-Semitism, a knee-jerk racism." The White House, however, called Mary's allegations "a book of falsehoods," and added that "the president doesn't use those words."
