Trump more focused at 1 am than 'Biden at 1 pm', says Mark Meadows, Internet says ‘toilet rage tweets don’t count’

While Trump held a press conference in his first 28 days, Biden has not had one for the last 50 days, far longer than any POTUS in 100 years

Former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows has compared President Joe Biden’s ability to Donald Trump. He also said that the current leader’s “decline” is visible since he failed to hold a press conference in the last seven weeks. As per reports, Biden has not held any Q&As with the media for the last 50 days, far longer than any other commanders-in-chief in the past 100 years. For instance, Trump held a press conference in his first 28 days, his predecessor Barack Obama took 21 days to hold one while it was 34 days for former President George W. Bush.

On Tuesday night, March 9, Meadows was speaking to Fox News' Sean Hannity when he said, “President Trump was more focused at 1.00 am in the morning than Joe Biden is in the afternoon at 1.00 pm.” He also questioned why instead of Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris has been taking calls with world leaders. The 61-year-old asked, “I mean, you start to look at this and you say, at what point are we going to start to have real communication from the White House?” On which, Ohio Congressman Jim Jordan added while referring to himself, Meadows, and Hannity, “We all three got calls from him [Trump] at 1:00 A.M. in the morning sometimes.”

During Tuesday's show, Hannity also voiced his doubt on whether the White House is trying to “buy time” for Biden, who he said was "struggling cognitively". He asked, “What is going on with the president of the United States, Joe Biden? Seriously. What is wrong? The American people deserve answers. He barely has any public events. His vice president, Kamala Harris, is taking solo calls with world leaders. That would be the commander-in-chief's job."

The conservative political commentator also slammed White House press secretary Jen Psaki as she failed to give a specific date as to when the Democratic leader will hold a solo press conference. "See what is happening here? They are clearly trying to buy time. They absolutely know that Joe Biden is struggling cognitively. He is a walking liability ... He can barely read from a teleprompter,” Hannity stated before adding he had "a theory on how this is all going to play out. Uncharacteristically, for now, I'm going to keep that to myself. I will share it in due time."

He went on to say, “More importantly, what did they know about Biden during the campaign? Who knew what and when? ... The people surrounding Joe Biden knew that the real Joe Biden was his campaign's biggest liability. Every single Democrat needs to be asked, do they see Joe struggling cognitively? It is a legitimate question. It's a question that Democrats and the media mob had no trouble asking about Ronald Reagan in 1984 ... they had no problem raising these issues with John McCain when he was running in 2008 ... The guy now fast asleep at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, that's not the same guy I remember just four short years ago."

This came as Biden went to a hardware store in Washington, DC, on Tuesday. During his visit to W.S. Jenks & Son, which used Paycheck Protection Program money to stay afloat during the Covid-19, he refused to talk to the media. In addition, recently Harris without Biden spoke to Norwegian prime minister Erna Solberg. Earlier, she talked to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and French President Emmanuel Macron without the presence of the 78-year-old.

Besides, when Psaki was asked by reporters on Friday, March 5, when they can expect to have a Q&A with Biden, she replied, “We look forward to holding a full press conference in the coming weeks before the end of the month. And we're working on setting a final date for that and as soon as we do, we will let you all know.”

Meanwhile, people on Twitter also expressed their thoughts over the Biden and Trump comparison. One user tweeted, “Ha. Trump on drugs at 1am and slept till noon! Then lounged around in his PJ eating Big Macs While Biden up at 6 exercising at bed at 10.” A second user said, “That’s because 1:00 am in Trump’s White House is 9:00 am in Moscow. Phone calls from Putin tended to ‘focus’ your boss Mr. Meadows.” “Rage tweeting on the toilet at 1 am while watching TV from one of his golf resorts doesn't count,” a person added.
