Excerpts from Bob Woodward's forthcoming book on Donald Trump's administration titled 'Rage' have made few shocking revelations about POTUS's approach to the pandemic, claiming that the president "knew" how deadly the novel coronavirus was and yet downplayed the threat not to cause "panic" among the public.

Trump reportedly told reporters at the White House after the excerpts from the book were released: "I'm a cheerleader for this country. I love this country. I don't want people to be frightened. I don't want to create panic."

The recorded tapes of Trump's interview with the Watergate reporter reportedly reveal the president sharing his opinion about the deadly coronavirus, despite having called Woodward's book a "con on the public", reported Daily Mail. "This is deadly stuff," Trump reportedly told Woodward about the virus. Furthermore, when confronted about the interview tapes, Trump didn't deny having made the comments, justifying his statements saying, "We don't want to instill panic. We don't want to jump up and down and start shouting that we have a problem that is a tremendous problem, scare everybody."

Even in February, Trump had spoken about downplaying his public statements about the deadly infection which has claimed over 200,000 lives so far in the US. "We don't want to have to show panic. We're not going to show panic. That's what I did." Trump said. The president's latest public statements have driven people into a frenzy, as they aren't able to get over the fact that Trump knew about the dire consequences of the virus and how he chose not to act accordingly.

Soon, #TrumpKnew started trending on Twitter as more and more people came forward to express their opinion about the bombshell revelations made in Woodward's book. Many of them commented saying Trump "killed" 200,000 Americans, while the others questioned the president about his choices. One commented, "You've killed 200K Americans."

Pointing at Trump supporters one user tweeted, "Your Dear Leader let almost 200K Americans die because he refused to let us know the truth. Save your pearl-clutching for someone who cares."

Another added, "Never in my life, have I ever heard a President bully so many people with childish schoolyard nicknames. Grow TF up! Now can we please talk about how you knew how dangerous Covid was in February and refused to do anyhung about it? Asking for almost 200k Americans #TrumpKnew."

Meanwhile, some said that action needs to be taken against the president for downplaying the consequences of the deadly infection which has cost thousands of lives. One tweeted, "200k Americans, TWO HUNDRED THOUSAND, died for this 'man's' pride and bloated ego. Prison for him and the GrOPe, nothing less!"

Labeling him a "mass murderer", one of the users tweeted, "A vote for Weak @realDonaldTrump is a vote for the biggest mass murder of almost 200k Americans. You vote for him the blood is on your hands as well!"
