'True Life Presents: Quarantine Stories': Release date, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about MTV's self-documented series
The entire world staggered to a halt this year as Covid-19 was declared a global pandemic and it affected all lives that inhabit the planet. Relationships, families, friendships, businesses, everything was affected when people had no other option but to huddle together and some people were stranded miles away from people that mattered most in their lives. Sometimes the uncertainty of what comes next and when would the world go back to how it was before, strained things further. A new four-part, self-documented series called 'True Life Presents: Quarantine Stories' which gives a raw and unfiltered look at relationships of hopeful young people as they work to adapt to life in quarantine is about to premiere on TV soon and here's all you need to know about it.
Release date
'True Life Presents: Quarantine Stories' will premiere on August 5, 2020. After the premiere, a new episode will air over the next three weeks at 9 pm ET/PT only on MTV.
Plot
According to MTV's press release, "The special series explores how the stress of everyday life is heightened while dealing with the emotional impact of being stuck in quarantine. From struggling with social separation to coping with love & loss and trying to make major life decisions, this self-documented series gives a raw and unfiltered look at relationships of hopeful young people as they work to adapt to this 'new normal'".
Cast
Chris and Ameide
Chris and Ameide have been in a long-term relationship and the couple is parents to a daughter named Khaleesia, while Ameide is eight months pregnant with another child who is due any day. They were in the midst of purchasing a home but all their plans came to a screeching halt as the pandemic hit at the same time and they were forced to shelter where they were and in their case, they were at Chris's mothers home. The stress of isolating together and being pregnant during a pandemic got the better of Ameide who butted heads with Chris's sister Stephanie and schooled her about maintaining cleanliness around the house. In a confessional, Ameide was heard being concerned about the fact that that she feels the situation might boil over soon.
Jamiere Jeffries
Jamiere is a 22-year-old college student who was required to move out of the college dorm and take classes for her final semester from home. Her only major concern was how much school work was she going to get done while studying from home. She lives in a three-storeyed house but it was completely occupied as her family was big enough and she too had brought along her girlfriend and friend to spend quarantine with her in her house. "Finals are around the corner and am I ready? How am I supposed to work, read, research, do paperwork with all these people in the house," she says in a five-minute sneak-peek of the show that can be accessed here.

The subjects of this series open up about how the pandemic has affected their lives and how everything is intensified while they deal with the emotional impact of being stuck in quarantine. "We need space, and we just can't give each other space," one woman states, while a young man notes, "This quarantine is insane."
