SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: In Season 2 of the Australian crime show 'Troppo', Amanda Pharrell (Nicole Chamoun), the private detective not only investigates Julian Naughton's murder but also gets on a mission to help her partner Ted Conkaffey (Thomas Jane) clear his name in a previous case.

'Troppo' Season 1 threw light on Amanda and Ted's turbulent past. While Amanda was charged with murder and did her time in prison, Ted lost his job when he was accused of raping a teenager.

Despite all the charges dropped against him due to lack of evidence, the opening episode of the season showed how Ted continued to face troubles.

Local cops showed up at his wife's house for a raid and he was even beaten up in front of his daughter. When Amanda learned about it, she decided to carry out her own investigation.

She believed that finding the real perpetrator could be the only way to help him regain his dignity and his old life with his wife and daughter.

In Episode 7, Amanda finds a strong lead that would help her solve the case. She connects to a lady over video call who shares the number of a man who dropped the puppy at the shelter.

Shock sets in as the number belongs to journalist Colin Finch (Brett Tucker).

Earlier in the episode, we also saw Colin secretly entering Ted's house and planting evidence. This leads us to believe that Colin is indeed the real culprit in Claire's rape case and framed Ted for it.

He could also be the one who killed Brooke (Sara West) in this season. Amanda is already suspicious of him and Detective Pip (Zindzi Okenyo) has also obtained his DNA to match it with the one found on Brooke's body.

However, at this point, Colin's true intentions remain unknown. The mystery will unfold in Episode 8 which marks the finale of Season 2.

'Troppo' Season 2 is available to stream on Prime Video
