Tom Parker’s widow Kelsey Hardwick reveals it’s hard to move on from memories of their ‘forever home’
PETTS WOOD, ENGLAND: Months after ‘The Wanted’ singer Tom Parker’s untimely death after he succumbed to cancer, his wife Kelsey Hardwick is working on keeping his legacy alive, through his children. She has called her home a ‘shrine’ for her late husband, where she now lives with their two children- Aurelia, 3, and Bodhi, 2.
In a report by Hello Magazine, Hardwick went on to talk about the remnants of Parker's memories in their home studio, some furniture that they bought together a long time ago and many other trinkets that remind her of him that she is finding hard to get rid of. She reflects on how all the memories of their long-time relationship are still fresh in her head. This is the home that Parker had referred to as their ‘forever home’ in an interview before his death from glioblastoma, a brain cancer.

"The studio is a mess, but it would be so hard to clear it," Hardwick said in an interview. "Even the desk I bought him in our first flat. The color is all gone, but he never wanted to get rid of it because I bought it for him. It's all these things that contain memories, but one day I've got to move forward, haven't I? I try to remember the memories are up here [points to her head]," she added.
But while she keeps everything associated with him in their home, Hardwick has also spoken about how she has been putting steady work into moving on and staying strong for their children and herself. She revealed that former footballer Rio Ferdinand’s wife Kate Ferdinand has been a great source of support for her and has been helping put things in perspective.
Hardwick stated, "Kate was a really great person to speak to. I was talking to her about how I want to get rid of our bed, but I said to her: 'How are people going to look at me for that?' If I do want to move forward, I’ve got to take these steps. Kate said: 'You've just got to not worry what anyone else thinks. You are the only person that gets into that bed, so you need to do what's right for you.’”
In an interview with The Sun, Hardwick has reflected on her relationship with Parker, talking about how they met long before he became a big name in the music industry and how quick and hardly they fell in love. “How lucky am I? People go through their whole life and don’t find love, and I’ve had that. I fell in love really hard. We were soulmates. I might have gone my whole life and never met the love of my life, but I did. What we did over the 13 years that we got to spend together, people don’t get to do that in their lifetime. We went to Buckingham Palace. We have the most outrageous stories that we shared together. And that’s why I can’t be sad, because I got to do that with him and share that with him,” Hardwick said as she recalled the golden time spent with Parker.
