'Titans' is officially renewed for Season 4. The announcement that was made during the recently concluded DC Fandome hardly comes as a surprise. The show originally made its debut in 2018 as a darker and more violent take on DC's 'Teen Titans' team. Led by Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) as the de facto leader and founder of the Titans, the team comprised of Kory Anders/Starfire (Anna Diop), Gar Logan/Beast Boy (Ryan Potter), and Rachel Roth/ Raven (Teagan Croft).

In the subsequent seasons, 'Titans' added Superboy (Joshua Orpin), Donna Troy (Conor Leslie), and Jason Todd (Curran Walters) to the mix, including iconic villains like Deathstroke in season 2 and Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow in Season 3 as the main antagonist. And with season 3 now complete, here's are five things to know ahead of season 4.

When will 'Titans' Season 4 release?

While the most obvious guess would be 2022, we reckon 'Titans' will drop sometime in August, just like it did this year. However, pandemic permitting, if the shoots go by quickly, odds are that we may get to see the fourth season even earlier.

What will be 'Titans' Season 4 all about?

It was a rather torrid time for the superheroes in Season 3. The base shifted from San Francisco to Gotham after the early episode showed that Jason Todd (Curran Walters) seemingly met his end at the hands of the Joker. Eventually, it was revealed that he was resurrected by Crane who had his own plan of drowning the city with his hallucinogens. The season also saw the death of Hank/Hawk (Alan Ritchson) and Dawn (Minka Kelly) leaving the team. There have been new faces this season in the form of Savannah Welch's Barbara Gordon, the former Batgirl now working as the Commissioner of GCPD, and Dick's love interest. There's a new Robin in Tim Drake (Jay Lycurgo).

The finale of Season 3 saw the unit launch an attack to stop Crane from executing his diabolical plan. Jason reunited with the Titans in his bid to stop the evil genius and stop they did as they use the Lazarus Pit's life regenerating ability to bring back the dead from Crane's hallucinogen. The episode ends with Jason parting his ways with Bruce Wayne. Donna Troy has presumably joined Argus and Blackfire heads back to Tamaran.

Who's in the cast?

Brenton Thwaites (Getty Images)

Expect the main members of the cast to return. Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, Joshua Orpin and Jay Lycurgo will most definitely reprise their roles, however, there is a question mark about Curran Walters' continuity in the series.

Showrunner

Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, Greg Walker, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and Richard Hatem serve as the Executive Producers. Walker has been the showrunner for three consecutive seasons now.

Is there a trailer for 'Titans' Season 4?

There is no trailer for 'Titans' Season 4 at the moment, however, watch this space for more updates on the clips for the new season.
