Timothy Haslett Jr: Kidnapped rape victim forced to wear collar and latex reveals chilling details

EXCELSIOR SPRINGS, MISSOURI: An unidentified woman was held captive, raped repeatedly and assaulted for weeks in a Missouri house before she escaped on October 7 and sought help from neighbors. Following this, a 39-year-old suspect Timothy Haslett Jr was arrested on the same day and charged with first-degree rape, aggravated sexual offense, first-degree kidnapping and second-degree assault, according to a complaint filed in Clay County Circuit Court.
According to NBC, police found the woman wearing a metal collar with a padlock and latex lingerie, with duct tape around her mouth, Excelsior Springs police said in a statement. The woman told police she was kidnapped in early September and was kept in a small room in the suspect's basement, restraining her wrists and ankles with handcuffs. He raped her and whipped her while the woman was held hostage. Excelsior Springs Police Chief Gregory Dull, "She was able to point out the house to us from the back of the ambulance on the way to the hospital." The house was 301 Old Orchard Avenue. The police chief added, "We were able to keep him from getting back into the house and possibly destroying evidence," as per KMBC, who also mentioned in the report that the woman escaped when the suspect left to drop his child to school.

Neighbors Ciara Tharp and Lisa Johnson spoke to KSHB three days after the suspect was taken into custody. Tharp's grandmother was at home at that time when the woman came to their house asking for help. Recollecting the details Tharp said, "She heard a woman screaming and came knocking on the door, so she opened the door and the lady said, 'You have to help me, I've been raped, I've been held captive.' She's like, 'You gotta help me.'" Then Tharp's grandma got the woman in, wrapped her in a blanket and offered some food and water. My grandma could tell she was weak. She didn't have a whole lot of clothes on. She said she had a metal dog collar around her neck and could see the ligature marks around her wrists," Tharp said. While Johnson said, "She didn't have much of a voice. It was more of a light 'help me' than anything." As Johnson went ahead to call 911, the woman started rushed to next door ,at Tharp's place. "It frightened her. She told me if I called the cops he'd kill us both," Johnson said.
Following this, the woman was taken to a hospital for treatment, where she was last listed in stable condition. On the other hand, Haslett is scheduled to appear in court next week for a bond hearing. He also entered a guilty plea on October 11 in a separate August 2021 case involving a careless and imprudent driving charge involving an accident, as stated by KCTV5.
