Tim Feerick, bassist for American rock band Dance Gavin Dance, has died at the age of 34. His bandmates - Will Swan, Matthew Mingus, Jon Mess, Tilian Pearson, and Andrew Wells, announced the news in a statement on Instagram, stating they were "devastated" by his death.
The musician died days before the band was set to headline the SwanFest festival in Sacramento, California, on Saturday, April 23. The reason behind his death has not been revealed yet.
"We are absolutely devastated to share the news that our friend and bass player, Tim Feerick, passed away last night. We ask that you respect our privacy and that of Tim's family while we deal with this heartbreaking and untimely loss. We will share further updates on Swanfest and our upcoming touring schedule as soon as we have them," the statement reads.

Fans took to Twitter to express their condolences. One tweet read, "Tim, you contributed so much passion to every song you were a part of. You were a master at your craft. Music lost a legend. You will never be forgotten. Thank you for everything, Timothy Feerick. Rest In Peace." Another said, "RIP Tim Feerick. He was such a great bass player and he was one of the people who inspired me to pick a bass up myself. We'll miss you Tim, thank you for all the good times." Dance Gavin Dance was formed in 2005, but Feerick joined the group in 2009. The band released six albums with Feerick as a bassist including 'Downtown Battle Mountain II' (2011), 'Acceptance Speech' (2013), 'Instant Gratification' (2015), 'Mothership' (2016) 'Artificial Selection' (2018), and 'Afterburner' (2020). The band has sold more than a million albums and has more than a billion Spotify streams.
