In the midst of rapidly growing tensions between Ukraine and Russia, a Twitch streamer and TikToker, Paden Johnsen, is facing netizen's ire for saying he changed his Tinder location to Ukraine to match with "hotties that need a green card." Johnson has around 20.7K followers, but his video about using Tinder to match with Ukrainian women went viral and has so far bagged 3.5 million views.

The assertion was made by TikToker @justpadetwitch in a viral TikTok video. It was posted on February 21, right after Putin's speech declaring war on Ukraine. The video is set to DJ Khaled's 'Major Bag Alert,' a sound track that is used in TikTok videos to indicate instances of unexpected possibilities.

After months of escalating conflict between the two countries, Russia invaded Ukraine on Thursday morning, on February 24. According to CNN, the Ukrainian towns of Kyiv and Odessa were attacked, and the attacks were carried out by 75 Russian military aircraft and featured "more than 100 ballistic missiles," according to NBC news.

According to USA Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin justified the invasion on Ukraine as a means of defending Russian-speaking Ukrainians in two formerly Ukrainian republics. According to USA Today, Ukraine's foreign ministry stated that the strike is intended to "destroy the state of Ukraine, a Westward-looking democracy intent on moving out of Moscow's orbit."

In light of the grave situation in Ukraine, some commenters slammed @justpadetwitch’s insensitive TikTok video. “Too soon,” @tim_jami commented. @slammzz_ called the TikTok “foul,” while @nahnele questioned, “Do u actually think [u] should be joking about stuff like that ?” After Russia officially invaded Ukraine on February 24, @justpadetwitch commented on the video acknowledging that the video “didn’t age well.” He added: “Much love to the people in the affected areas. These are just jokes but I would love peace.”

While this TikTok user's video has gone viral, several trolls are adopting the same twisted strategy as seen in these tweets to try their luck. One person wrote, "Pro tip- switch your tinder to Ukraine and find hotties that need a green card."

Another person's tweet read, "Fellas, if you ain’t got no game, listen up. Go get you a premium subscription to Tinder, and set your location to Kyiv, Ukraine. There are thousands of beautiful women looking for a ticket out. Sponsor her green card, live long and prospect."

The following was a tweet from someone else: "Set my tinder to Kiev Ukraine. I'm letting these girls know they can stay at my house if they can get refugee status and a plane ticket. Over 100 takers so far (i'm a solid 6). This is your chance bros."
