It's a struggle to pay for food while you are a student. TikToker Noah Wille found a unique way to tackle the problem and shared it in a TikTok video. As a college student, he often found himself struggling to afford food, with entry-level jobs not paying enough. But instead of spending money, Wille came up with a hack to enjoy free meals every day of the year.

While it might seem tempting to use this hack to get free food, it's important to remember that local restaurants are still struggling after the pandemic. Around 16,000 restaurants closed permanently in 2020 as a result of the global crisis. By using this hack, you might be contributing to the problem rather than helping out.

How does the TikTok 'birthday hack' work?

Wille created a spreadsheet of all 800 restaurants in his area and narrowed it down to those that offered a birthday treat or meal for free. He then assigned each restaurant to a different day of the year, ensuring that he had a free meal waiting for him every single day for the entire year

It certainly requires some effort, but if you're a student in the same situation, it might be worth trying out. Just remember to do it responsibly and ethically, taking into account the struggles faced by local businesses. "OK, life hack that's also kind of terrible. I really hope I am not the only person who is crazy enough to do this," Wille said in his now-viral TikTok showing off his handiwork.

'Important for people who can't afford food'

Wille's nifty trick seems to have struck a chord with many. One user commented, "Don't be shy drop the spreadsheet," while another wrote, "Crazy or genius?" "KING ENERGY RIGHT HERE," commented one user. Someone else said, "This is so important for people who can't afford food, this could help them get at least one meal a day!"
