TikTok star Remi Bader slams ranch for not letting her ride horses because she weighs over 240
Remi Bader, a TikTok celebrity, has claimed she was mistreated by personnel at a ranch for being overweight, calling out the company for failing to make its standards clear and being nasty when enforcing them. Bader wrote on TikTok, where she has over 2 million followers, “Shoutout to Deep Hollow Ranch in Montauk for making me leave because I weigh over 240.” She added in the video's caption that she'd never had a weight-limit issue before while riding horses, and she asked the ranch to explicitly state the limit on signs for future visitors. “I’ve rode horses before and have never had this issue. Please advertise this on your signs for the future,” she said.
Bader stressed in the comments that the ranch had failed to advertise their weight limitation and that her stay there had been embarrassing. She wrote, “I don’t really need any opinions on this one. It’s the fact of how it wasn’t advertised and how poorly it was handled. This was my experience, not yours. It was very embarrassing to be told I need to leave alone when everyone else got to stay lol.” Many TikTok users commented on the video and showed their support to Remi. One person wrote, “They should definitely advertise this on their website.” “I’m so sorry this happened to you,” another added. “It’s very clear Remi understands why she wasn’t allowed to go on but it could have been handled differently by the staff/business,” yet another person remarked.

Bader dueted a since-deleted clip that was shared by a man named Brody (who, according to Bader, is the owner’s son). In reaction to one of Bader's comments, he was seen riding a horse and mocking the influencer, saying, "When you're not a fat b****, you can ride at Deep Hollow ranch." "Imagine this being deep hollow ranch's response to your experience," Bader wrote in response to Brody's video.

The company, meanwhile, responded with an apology on Facebook, writing, “It has come to our attention that a TikTok video was posted regarding the ranch and a teenage employee posted a response that in no way represents nor is aligned with the views that the owners of the ranch hold. We would like to apologize to anyone who this offended and we do not condone or agree with any part of that employee’s video.”
Bader noted in a statement to People, “I’d never want to take down or make a small business look bad unless I TRULY felt it was necessary. I posted for a reason and that’s not because of me being denied to ride the horses. I get it, some places have weight requirements and I’d never want to hurt the horses, but it was the way I was spoken to and laughed at by the owner and the way I was treated overall. What I experienced in person was only supported later by the owner’s son’s video, who made very clear that they did not want me there because of my weight and that is truly disappointing.”
