Three men who went viral after robbing groom in Philly outside wedding get arrested
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: Three men have been arrested in connection with a series of gunpoint robberies in Philadelphia, including one that went viral when the perpetrators were caught on camera robbing a groom outside his wedding while passers-by looked on. Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw said they were apprehended in South Philadelphia following yet another armed robbery. Two of the three detained are under the age of 19. The third is 22. Their identities have not yet been revealed.
The suspects are thought to be part of a team responsible for at least ten robberies in the city's upmarket areas dating back to October, including the one that went viral after being broadcast on TikTok and Twitter. A groom was held at gunpoint outside his wedding celebration in the Old City district on December 10 during the on-camera heist. His Rolex watch was stolen by the crooks. The man got robbed by at least two persons, according to the viral footage. As it happens, a group of people half a block away can be seen walking past.

The men are also suspected of being involved in an armed robbery in which they made off with two additional Rolexes valued at more than $37,000. Police have not stated if any of the stolen watches have been recovered and are continuing their investigation. According to CBS Philadelphia, the men were apprehended after being stopped in a silver Lincoln MKZ.

Earlier, a New Jersey couple, John and Heather Bollendorf, were robbed just a few blocks away while out on the town. "You have to be aware of your surroundings keep your head on a swivel," John Bollendorf remarked. "If something looks wrong, it probably is wrong." According to the pair, the encounter altered their image of Philadelphia. Heather Bollendorf said, "I don't think I would come into the city by myself."
Officials in Philadelphia said they are aware of the community's concerns. "We hear people when they say, 'I feel afraid', Having three people in custody that we know are at least linked to at least two very dangerous robberies I think it brings a little bit of solace around the holiday season," Danielle Outlaw explained.
