DENHAM SPRINGS, LOUISIANA: Three young girls who went missing from their homes on Thursday evening, December 22, 2022, are being hunted down by the police but the trio has apparently termed their sudden disappearance as "hide and seek" on social media. Jandi Hughes, 16, Anna Barker, 14, and Olivia Carrier, 12, were last seen on Spur Drive in Denham Springs, Louisiana, around midnight on Thursday.

Livingston Parish Sheriff's Office has issued an appeal for information, saying, "No foul play is suspected. But, due to the pending dip in temperatures, we are hoping to locate them as soon as possible." However, people shared screenshots on Facebook, claiming that the girls are mocking and taunting the efforts the police are putting into the search.

"They are having fun with this. Claiming they are in Texas," one person wrote beneath the post. Olivia replied, "Yeah we did it's called hide and seek." Others shared Snapchat messages from the girls. "Say we all the way in Texas," wrote Olivia, according to Daily Mail. Denham Springs is 200 miles from the state line, without any passenger trains. In the state, a provisional driving license could be obtained at the age of 16.

"Boy y'all f***** me up on ma runaway pic," Anna apparently wrote with laughing emojis in another post shared to Facebook. One woman wrote on Facebook, "Jandi is posting on snap currently from indoors stating they're fb famous and also fine and don't want to be found." Another added, "I have jandi on snapchat and she thinks that it's a joke." One said, "Pretty sure they are all together." According to Jandi's story, she won't let anything happen to "her girls".

Another commented, "That's actually ridiculous. She's 16, not their 'protector'. I'd be so livid if I was these children's parents." A Livingston Parish Sheriff's spokesperson said that they were aware of the social media posts, and detectives were investigating. They requested anyone with information to come forward.

MEAWW previously reported that four teenagers who went missing while paddle boarding in choppy waters off Victoria’s Mornington peninsula, Australia, have been found alive on a small island following a dramatic overnight search. The two 18-year-old boys and two girls, 18 and 19, were reported missing at around 8 pm on Monday, December 19, after a passer-by found their belongings including mobile phones and a car, at the Rosebud Beach off Port, Nepean Road.

Victoria police said the teenagers were paddling out on two inflatable boards in Victorian waters when they were caught in strong high tides. A desperate search was immediately launched to locate the group, who had traveled to Rosebud to celebrate finishing their final school exams.

The search came to an end on Tuesday morning when the Victoria police confirmed that all four teenagers have been located alive near Swan Island, around 20km away from Rosebud. Victoria Police Acting Superintendent, Terence Rowlands, noted that the group was found by a security staff who was out on their routine morning walk. "They (the teens) were very cold and very relieved to be on dry land," he told reporters according to Daily Mail. "Luck has a lot to do with it," he further added.
