‘This Is Us’ Season 5 Episode 7 ‘There’: Will Madison die in the car crash and Kevin reconcile with Randall?

A beautiful beginning, a knock from the past and a mysterious ending. That's what every 'This Is Us' episode looks like. Last week, the episode ‘A Long Road Home’ ended with a call from Randall Pearson (Sterling K Brown) to Hai Lang (Vien Hong).

In a dilemma, Randall asked him, “Do you mind if I ask you a blunt question? Laurel (Jennifer C Holmes) died of breast cancer in May 2016... My father William Hill (Ron Cephas Jones) told me she overdosed and died after my birth. Did he lie to me?” Clearing out the misconception, Hai remarked, “From what I know of the story... I believe he told you what he thought was the truth.”

When he was asked, “How exactly did you know Laurel?” Hai said, “We met in our 20s. I thought about telling you about her for so many years. I wish I could see your face. I wish I could show you the places she lived. The things she loved.” 

Hai narrates his love story in the hour-long drama ‘Birth Mother’ and as the episode comes to a close, Randall is lighter and happier. "I know my birth story," he tells Beth. "And it is not just being left at the fire station... It's two people. Two imperfect people. Who loved me." Instantly, he tells her, "I want to call Kevin. I don't want to hold the bad stuff anymore." 

However, as soon as Randall rings Kevin, he says, "My whole life is a mess. I am in Vancouver. Madison is going for delivery. I can't talk to you now." Last time, when Kevin asked Randall for help, the latter disconnected the phone. What will happen this time around? The summary reads, “Kevin embarks on a stressful road trip; Jack and young Kevin go to a football training camp.” The last scene shows a car crash. 

What will happen in Kevin's life? Will he be able to solve his issues with Madison? Fans have already dished out their theories. One said, "Wait.... does Madison die and does Kevin have to raise the twins alone???? She was NOT in the flashforward episode when they went to see Rebecca," and another posted, "Everyone freaking out about the end of #ThisIsUs take a second, breathe, and remember they’ve already flashed forward. Kevin lives."

‘This Is Us’ premiered on Tuesday at 9 pm ET on NBC after the mid-season winter break with Episode 5 titled ‘A Long Road Home’ on January 5, 2021. Catch the next one Episode 7 titled ‘There’ on January 19, 2021.
