With just one day to go for the most highly anticipated soap opera wedding of the season, speculations are running rife surrounding two burning issues: Who shot Adam and how can Rey and Charless still let them run loose? The latter's mention however takes us to the other burning issue at hand, and that is the ever-changing mind and heart of Abby.
Her wedding to Chance is right around the corner, and will mark the 12,000th episode of the long-running soap opera, but looks like there's a faint chance that the two might not end up together after all. The reason behind our speculation? The events of the previous Episode 49 of Season 48.
According to the official synopsis given by CBS, the episode will see "Jack and Jill share nostalgic feelings, Nina arrives home, and Abby has a change of heart." On the eve of Abby and Chance's big wedding, one can't help but wonder why she is having a change of heart. It could be a number of things though, from wedding details to the ceremony, guests, or even her dress. Our worst fears are surrounding Chance however as Abby is known to be quite frivolous at what she wants.
All of this unfolds in the backdrop of Adam still lying in the psychiatric facility as his father Victor thinks it's the best for the clearly unstable man. At the same time, Victor is also hunting the person who tried harming his child, with special suspicion cast at Billy, thus once again throwing in the air curiosity surrounding his alibi. Billy claims the gun that was used was never retrieved by him from Victoria's safe. She too confirms the claims thus spinning the whole question on who got the gun out after all.
We know the gun was stolen in the break-in that Victoria had reported a while ago, but could it be that Faith decided to get into yet another drinking binge and accidentally shot Adam? There's also a high chance of Chelsea being the shooter and pinning the blame all on Billy because that's what vengeful ex-lovers are for.
True she is into Adam now and is ditching her lifelong best friend Chloe over working things out with him, but could all of this be just a sick vendetta spat out of Billy having a new woman in his life? Chelsea probably thought it would be two birds with a stone because being Adam's baby mama comes with its own toll too. Shooting him and pinning the blame on Billy would actually make a lot of things convenient for her.
The other development to look forward to is the curious case of Sally, who's proven to be quite the whirlwind in Genoa City even though she's just landed here. There's also some confusing tension with Summer who seems to have gotten close with Kyle, but Sally too has her eyes set on the man. And the same goes with the recent position Summer was offered, so expect some drama to go down on that end.
'The Young and the Restless' airs on weekdays at 12.30 pm on CBS.
