Henry Cavill dehydrated himself for three days
Cavill's commitment to the 'The Witcher' and 'Man of Steel' have solidified his status as an action hero in Hollywood, proving how seamlessly he can shift between different roles. However, these transformations also require strict discipline and the actor had to to follow an a strict diet and workout pattern that had to continue until the end of production.
On Season 1 Episode 4 of the Netflix series, a scene required Cavill to go shirtless, where Geralt is coerced into accompanying Jaskier to a royal ball. In the scene Jaskier insists Geralt take a bath. Cavill had to prepare for three days for the scene. He had to dehydrate himself to the point where he could even "smell water nearby," per Fandomwire. He almost passed out in order to depict a strong physique on screen.

The three-day dehydration process that Cavill followed for the bathtub scene has been used by many other actors as well. This method causes extreme water imbalance in the body. As the body loses water, the muscles "dry out," making them look much bigger and more defined. Before he pulled on his cape in 'Man of Steel', he had to undergo a similar rigorous regimen for six months.
