Are The Weeknd and Rosalia working on a new music video? Fans speculate 'Blinding Lights' remix is on the way
It looks like The Weeknd has something up his sleeve for fans. Based on a new teaser shared on December 3, the contemporary R&B star and Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalia are cooking up something. The Weeknd has taken to his social media to share a new photo revealing him and Rosalia in a sexy embrace without any caption. The picture shows the pair both wearing red and in a desert with the sun setting behind them.
If the two have music planned, for now, we are left to hazard a guess based on several clues. First off, consider that the picture is designed with the pair posing in a fictional desert and it's not just an ordinary photo. Second, The Weeknd and Rosalia appear romantically together for the picture, and if not music, that would mean the two are revealing a relationship, which is less likely considering the designed aesthetics and a move that is usually served with a personal note of some kind or revealed to or by the press.
Third and probably the biggest hint of them all, is the fact that The Weeknd is once again sporting prosthetics to look bruised and beaten-up on his face, which has previously been confirmed as part of an act. The singer has used such an appearance in previous music videos and even live performances, so not only does this mean the possibility of music outweighs other outcomes, but we might be getting a music video. Since The Weeknd has donned this look for material from his latest album 'After Hours', we also can't rule out the notion that there may be a remix on the way with Rosalia as the guest contributor. Check out the teaser below.
Over on Twitter, many fans are speculating that The Weeknd's biggest hit of 2020, 'Blinding Lights', is getting a remix. "Which song is being remixed?" asks a fan to which another fan replies, "Blinding lights." One fan said, "Some people say (remix) blinding lights I do not know if this is correct or not but I hope it’s true."
One fan wrote, "LET’S HOPE THE REMIX TURNS OUT GOOD ! and doesn’t flop like in your eyes with doja lmao," to which another replied, "It flopped cuz Doja had a hate train." A Spanish fan is loving the idea of a collab with Rosalia, saying, "Fin de Semana if you give us an album with nothing but collabs with Spanish speaking artists we’ll get you that Grammy."
