'The Wedding Planners' Episode 6 Review: A beautiful June wedding and a grand 10th anniversary celebration

It's safe to say that this episode took in more of an emotional banter that couples would relate to, from family concerns and acceptance to wholly being committed to be with someone for the rest of their lives

Spoilers for 'The Wedding Planners' Season 1 Episode 6 'A June Wedding'

This episode takes the idea of modern relationships to a whole new level when couple Tyler (Christian Vincent) and June (Jennifer Mote) go from a long-distance video-call relationship to actually physically tying the knot.

As Paige Clarkson (Kimberly-Sue Murray) and Christopher (Olivier Renaud) help their best friends sort out their insecurities, Paige celebrates her 10-year wedding anniversary with her husband Dan (Mark Ghanimé), except there is a bit of family drama to sort out.

Turns out that love always wins though, and this episode can be added to the "you're crying, we're not crying" list, without a doubt.

Tyler (Christian Vincent) and June (Jennifer Mote) in 'The Wedding Planners' Season 1 Episode 6 'A June Wedding'  (Citytv)

June, a dance instructor, is Paige's best friend and is now all set to marry choreographer and Christopher's best friend, Tyler. A year and a half ago, Christopher had introduced June to Tyler, and since then the duo has strengthened and bonded over video chats as Tyler toured with his ballet company.

Deciding to settle down in one place for a change, he chooses a life in Hartbridge with June, but it's a whole new chance for the couple, nervous about how their video chats didn't suffice on speaking about serious commitments and big issues in their upcoming future.

Topics such as wanting to expand the family or leaving a life of familiarity and jumping into a new one seem to expose the cracks in their relationship.

Not to expose too much of the episode, but it brought to the forefront the issues that couples face once the marriage is days away. From thinking that small issues turn to big ones, to thinking if they can work harmoniously on each other's time, these couple's issues is relatable to most adult and modern relationships.

While we really hope that you watch the episode, we can tell you this much Paige and Christopher come to the rescue and we have a grand theatre wedding.

Dan (Mark Ghanimé) and Paige Clarkson (Kimberly-Sue Murray) in 'The Wedding Planners' Season 1 Episode 6 'A June Wedding'  (Citytv)

On the Clarkson family front Paige and Dan ring in 10 years together as a married couple — they are the sweetest, like out of a fairytale. While their family life seems to be almost perfect, Dan has had issues with his family and Paige tries to mend a few strings by inviting Dan's mother to their planned party.

Dan's reaction to learning that Paige invited his mother brought to the surface the hurt he feels like the "black sheep" of his family. His family didn't even respond to when they were told they became grandparents. Paige, having just lost her mom, feels that her girls should know that they do have a grandmother.

Paige's need to help her family stay close-knit was an honorable one, except it turns out that toxicity is hard to let go of. Dan's family was not a fan of the Clarksons, and time definitely did not heal all wounds.

Dan faces harsh comparisons to his brother by his mother and her perspective of gender roles is subtly vicious as well. There is nothing like close family and friends to help mend broken hearts, and Paige and Dan are able to bring in their anniversary with the most important people in their lives around them.

It's safe to say that this episode took in more of an emotional banter that couples would relate to, from family concerns and acceptance to wholly being committed to be with someone for the rest of their lives. It was a wholesome approach to bringing the reality check much needed among the butterflies and rainbows of planning a wedding.

P.S. We learn a little more about Christopher's past, and we sympathize with our sweetheart Hannah (Madeline Leon).

'The Wedding Planners' airs on Fridays at 8 pm ET/PT on Citytv,
