'The Walking Dead' Season 10 Episode 15 sets Judith up for leadership role once Daryl kicks the bucket
Spoilers for 'The Walking Dead' Season 10 Episode 15 'The Tower'
The penultimate episode of 'The Walking Dead' Season 10 does a lot of setting up for the upcoming finale and for the future of the franchise. The most important thing it sets up though is Judith Grimes's (Cailey Fleming) ascension to a community leader.
Granted, Judith is still a little girl so we are not expecting her to start leading a community right away but it is something that's pretty inevitable at this point. For one thing, as the daughter of the legendary Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), she would be able to command respect but inheritance isn't why we think she should be a future leader.
Episode 15 'The Tower' gives some insight into Judith's character and her relationship with Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus). It's not easy for a little girl to mature as quickly as she does and deep down she hopes that Daryl will be with her to take care of her.
There's a pretty depressing moment when Daryl explains the grim truth to Judith: that he cannot promise he won't leave her but no matter what, Judith would always have a family who will take care of her in Alexandria. And she will take care of them in return.
It looks like Daryl is going to train Judith over the years to become a leader like her father and once Daryl's gone, we are pretty sure she will step up to the role in a big way. Perhaps there's another spinoff show in the making that'll feature Judith leading the children of the present-day Alexandrians, which honestly sounds like a lot of fun.
For now, it doesn't look like Daryl's going to die any time soon though it is always a possibility on this show. But at some point, perhaps years from now, there will come a day when someone has to step up and take leadership of Alexandria and we are pretty sure that when that day comes, Judith Grimes will be ready to answer the call.
'The Walking Dead' Season 10 Episode 16 has been delayed indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic but it is expected to drop by September at the latest.
