UNIVERSAL CITY, CALIFORNIA: During the climactic finale of 'The Voice' Season 25, contestant Josh Sanders, representing Team Reba McEntire, delivered a breathtaking rendition of Vince Gill's beloved ballad 'Go Rest High on That Mountain'.

While the judges praised Josh's performance, it seemed that his vocals didn't quite resonate with the audience, eliciting a wave of disappointment expressed by fans across various social media platforms.

On X, one fan said, "I haven’t watched this in months. I don’t know any of these people, but that guy that just finished sounds like every other dude in country music nothing special."

Another fan added, "Josh did a decent job, but I wanted a little more emotion."

One fan wrote, "He may be nailing this song (I don’t know it), but I would sing something more upbeat for the finals."

Another fan noted, "Josh is very good but I'm personally tired of the male country singers!"

Who is Josh Sanders on 'The Voice' Season 25?

Josh Sanders is a committed and loving father, a skilled musician, and a revered figure in the spiritual community, holding the esteemed position of senior pastor at Living Grace Church in Kannapolis, North Carolina.

Not only has he showcased his exceptional musical talents and dedication to his art by participating in singing competitions like 'American Idol,' where his performances have impressed both judges and viewers alike.

In 2012, he claimed victory in his inaugural competition during the 11th season, dazzling the judges with his remarkable abilities. Three years later, in 2015, he once again showcased his talent and solidified his position as a leading figure in the music world during Season 14.

In the eleventh season of the show, Josh had a memorable moment on television when he performed 'Burning Love' by Elvis Presley alongside a group of talented singers. One of his fellow performers was Caleb Johnson, who won Season 13 of the show. This standout performance solidified Josh's reputation as a skilled and charismatic performer in the music industry.

Josh advanced to the final rounds of Hollywood Week in two consecutive seasons; however, he was unfortunately eliminated before making it to the live shows on both occasions.

At the age of 23, Josh decided to try out for Idol while simultaneously balancing his role as the lead singer of Preacher Stone, a popular southern rock band. During his second audition, he was still heavily involved in the secular music scene and also held the position of music director at Mission Baptist Church in Locust, North Carolina.
