'The Voice' Season 18: Nick Jonas chooses Arei Moon over Jon Mullins, fans call it a huge mistake
The second pair to take to the Knockout stage was Arei Moon and Jon Mullins from Team Nick Jonas. Special coach, singer-songwriter James Taylor accompanied Jonas to guide the contestants during the rehearsals and he was as blown away with the artistic prowess of both these singers as was their coach.
Arei had decided to sing 'You Don't Know My Name' by Alicia Keys and it was 'Thinking Out Loud' for Mullins. Both artists brought it down with their performance and showcased their vocal range while on stage. After the performance, it was time for their coach to pick a winner but not before the other coaches gave their thoughts about the performance.
Kelly Clarkson praised both performers for what they did with their respective songs. Both managed to showcase their range and power as artists and she also joked that both of them have common ground with how physical they are on stage and might be dangerous for anyone standing near them while they're at it. She was referring to both singers constantly moving their hands and legs too in Mullins's case; you'd have noticed it in the recent performance.
Blake Shelton called Mullins a cool man and John Legend shared a cool piece of trivia with Arei and mentioned that he did background vocals on 'You Don't Know My Name'.
It was now time to choose a winner amongst them and Jonas chose Arei. As per usual, audiences tuning in took to Twitter to weigh in on the results. One fan wrote, "@nickjonas #VoiceKnockouts Should have picked Jon. He was different. Too many singers like Ari." While another wrote, "@nickjonas #VoiceKnockouts thanks for ari she was good. Thought John was good too."

"You made a big mistake, you should of kept Jon.@nickjonas #VoiceKnockouts" noted another fan.
"@nickjonas #VoiceKnockouts I was really loving you as a coach... but you went the wrong way. Jon super great, and is likeable and folks will vote him into the final." wrote another.
