For the final performance of night 1 of the battle round, it was time for Allegra Miles and Michael Williams to take the stage. Coach Nick Jonas paired two of his youngest pop singers for the battle round and picked out Sam Smith's version of Whitney Houston's 'How Will I Know'.

In the practice sessions, Nick along with his brothers Kevin and Joe were impressed with both the artists nailing the performance. They collectively spoke very highly about their talent and also noted that even though there can only be one winner at the end of the battle, none of them will go home. They were pretty sure that the other judges would use their 'steal' buttons for them and if that doesn't happen, Nick promised to use his 'save' button.

Both of the artists get on to the stage and deliver an extremely emotion-packed performance, taking it notches higher than their performance at the practice session.

All four coaches loved the performance and the fact that they were so in sync with each other, even though it was a battle. Coach Blake Shelton particularly pointed out that it sounded and felt more like a duet and not a battle. John Legend noted that there was a lot of 'Nick' influence in Michael's voice and with the way he delivered the song. Allegra was praised for her unique and emotive tone.

It finally came down to Nick to pick a winner among the two and after a lot of deliberation, he chose Allegra as the winner of the battle. When Michael left the stage after thanking Nick and the other coaches, coach Nick kept his promise and pushed the 'save' button for Michael. Both the artists were retained and they headed to the Knockouts. Fans of the show quickly took to Twitter to congratulate Nick for retaining both his artists.

A fan wrote, "@nickjonas #VoiceBattles Allegra and Michael were so incredible in their duet!! So glad you saved them both!!" Another tweet read, "@nickjonas #VoiceBattles Great match up with Allegra and Michael! Glad they both get to move on!"

One more tweeted, "Great choice choosing Allegra, and saving Michael! @nickjonas #VoiceBattles," while another fan praised their performance, "@nickjonas can we make Allegra and Michael’s song an EP? #VoiceBattles #teamnick."

Do you think coach Nick did the right thing using his save for Michael? Let us know in the comments.
