'The Voice' semi-finalist Rose Short thrives on being unique and bringing her own personality to her music

In an exclusive interview with MEA WorldWide (MEAWW), the last contestant standing in #TeamGwen talks about how being herself helped her through all the rounds

The finale of the hit singing reality show 'The Voice' Season 17 is almost here and we are counting down to the finalists as we speak.

We recently caught up with #TeamGwen's Rose Short, who's the last surviving member of her team and learned about what she wants to drive and where she sees herself in the finals.

Answering us to what she tries to convey through her singing, Short says, "The one thing that I want to say is that you can do anything that you put your mind to. You got to have faith and believe that you don’t need to be like anyone but yourself."

"You are perfect, your flaws included. Because, that makes you, you. Most importantly, if you have a microphone and you are in a position to reach millions of people, you have to say something," she adds.

We have always found Short's stories quite fascinating. Despite coming from a tough time in her past, she has managed to rise above all and put herself on a stage like 'The Voice' only with her musical talent.

We wonder if her prison inmates are still rooting for her. Short tells us that although she hasn't heard any feedback from her fellow inmates, she knows in her heart that they will root for her and she's happy with just knowing that.

Wrapping up, we couldn't help but ask her about her expectations from the finals. What happens if she reaches the finals, and how she will tackle the things that she hasn’t so far, we asked.

Short was sure excited by the thought of it but was very practical in her approach. She says, "I don’t know what I will do. I need to come down over the current win first, get through it, and then see what happens. I have to take it week by week as it comes."

Watch Rose Short showcase her musical talent in the upcoming episodes of 'The Voice'. The Finale Part 1 airs on December 16 at 8 pm ET/PT only on NBC.
