'The Voice' 2022 Blind Auditions: Angry fans protest against sister duo The Marylinds competing on show, dub it 'unfair'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Despite sibling trio- A Girl Named Tom winning the previous season of 'The Voice', it looks like the show's fans aren't still open to groups competing on the NBC singing competition show. The recently aired episode 5 of 'The Voice' Season 22, featured sister duo Lindsay and Kasey Staniszewski aka The Marylinds trying out for the show's blind auditions.
The sister duo who also happens to be former Miss Maryland picked the song 'What If I Never Get Over You' by Lady A. The duo's beautiful and perfectly in-sync harmony instantly drew in John Legend and Camila Cabello, who wasted no time in turning their chairs. The coaches couldn't stop raving about the sisters' vocal arrangement and harmony. After a lot of back and forth between Camila and John, The Marylinds finally decided to join Team Legend, as they always dreamt of singing to John playing the piano. While the coaches were happy with how things panned out, 'The Voice' fans were far from pleased with the outcome of The Marylinds' performance. Several angry fans took to Twitter to slam the show and the showrunners for letting duos and groups compete in the competition.

'The Voice' fans pointed out how groups competing on the show already have an advantage over individual performers owing to their harmony. A fan tweeted, "Nah they need to stop this duo/trio sh*t on #thevoice. It's hard to beat a harmony, especially in the knock out rounds." "I'm ok with a duo auditioning together but it's #TheVoice so they should be required to face each other in the Knockout Round with the solo winner going on. Groups shouldn't face solo singers in the live rounds (the trio season win was just forked up) @NBCTheVoice @blakeshelton," wrote a fan.

Another fan wondered, "You can do duos on #TheVoice ?!?" "Nope. A duet. No. Just no. That is very unfair to the other contestants. Any duet or group needs to compete on a separate show with other duets and groups. #thevoice," declared a fan. "Not fair for a duet to compete against a solo artist. #thevoice," echoed a fan.
