Who was Adriana Davidson?
Adriana Davidson,15, was reported missing at around midnight on Saturday, January 28 after she didn't return home from Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The student last spoke with her family at about 9 am on Friday, January 27, while on her way to school. She was last seen by friends at about 11 am the same day outside the school gates.
What happened at Pioneer High School?
The director of community engagement at the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office said that a public bus video was obtained by the Sheriff's Office which shows that Adriana came to school on Friday but left soon after. Adriana's friends claimed that she wasn’t feeling well. The video then shows she came back to school around noon but she never apparently went inside. This was the last time she was reportedly seen alive.
Adriana responded, "No", when one of her best friends saw her leaving school and texted her "You straight?" Her cell phone was later discovered on the high school's tennis courts. "What teenage girl just wanders off and leaves her phone and doesn't contact someone," Derrick Jackson said. The teenager was last seen wearing a green coat, black Ugg boots, and clear-framed glasses. "A student told her best friend that they saw her at the bus stop with a man in a black sweatshirt & black pants & ‘they didn’t seem like they knew each other’ but who knows," Lopez wrote in a Saturday update, according to Fox News.
'This is not my daughter'
Adriana's father John Davidson was reportedly the last person to contact her when she left to take a local public bus on 'The Ride' bus route. After that, she neither returned to her home nor did she answer her father's calls and texts. Davidson thus reached out to the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Department to find his daughter. "There's definitely some suspicious pieces to this," Derrick Jackson, director of community engagement at the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office said, according to WXYZ. "This is not my daughter," John told the outlet as he claimed that Adriana always responds to him.
The devastated father said his family needs "time to grieve" after the tragic discovery in a Monday Facebook post. "This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do but, my daughter Adriana was found and she has passed on!" John Davidson wrote, adding, "I’m not sure where I go from here but, I am so grateful for all the support and love from everyone across this nation especially family and friends that have helped searching and posting for Adriana!"
