Who is Nikki Secondino?
According to a source, Nikki is a social media influencer with over 15,000 Instagram followers. The 22-year-old transgender model has several seductive photographs on her Instagram page and she once stated in an interview that she had a modeling contract and attended the Fashion Institute of Technology, as per Hiptoro.
In a candid interview for the 'United We Rant' podcast in 2020, she discussed how difficult it was for her to transition from a boy to a girl and how it affected her modeling career. "Like whatever it would be, off of my voice, off of my face. I have a real feminine body but like some people can clock you. Like your shoulders are too wide, your ribs are whatever." She claimed she was born Nicholas Secondino, but she realized she was trans when she was 5 years old. When her mother forced her to put on a boy's swimsuit and clothes at Target, she had a tantrum because she felt uneasy in them.
Nikki stated that she began taking hormones at the age of 16. She also stated that her father was supportive during the entire procedure. She said, "My dad had a strong personality. He didn’t let it affect him. My mom, surprisingly, took it a little harder than my dad. That was the way that that happened."
'Father died on the scene'
Nikki is accused of killing her father Carlo, 61, and seriously injuring her sister Liana, 19, during a violent outburst. As per the Brooklyn Paper, the paramedics declared the father died on the scene. The outlet said that investigators informed that after the defendant's murderous spree, her 19-year-old sister attempted to step in after hearing a ruckus in the living room, but the knife-wielding suspect allegedly repeatedly stabbed her in the face, body, and hands.
'I wanted them dead'
As per the prior criminal complaint in the case, the alleged murderer offered police a terrifying confession after being apprehended by Brooklyn investigators. The Instagram model allegedly made some chilling statements."I came out of the bedroom and I saw my father sitting on [the] couch sleeping and I bashed [his] head in with [a] hammer. I grabbed my favorite German steel knife and stabbed the s–t out of him," she stated, as per the complaint, adding, "My sister came out of her bedroom and tried to stop me, and then I stabbed her in the back, head and stomach. I wanted them dead."
'My sister stabbed me'
According to investigators, Nikki initially informed officers that two trespassers stormed into the family house and injured her father and sister but later modified her account. According to the complaint, Liana Secondino told police that her sister had stabbed her when first responders arrived on the site. "My sister stabbed me. Have you seen my father?" Liana said.
Nikki was charged and was ordered to be held without bail at her arraignment before Brooklyn Supreme Court Justice Elizabeth Warin. She will be in court again on April 5, 2023. If convicted, the defendant faces a maximum jail sentence of 50 years to life.
