'The Simpsons' predicts epic downfall for Elon Musk and internet has its fingers crossed
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The television show ‘The Simpsons’, immensely popular for predicting momentous events from the future, might have made a jaw-dropping prognosis regarding Elon Musk and his fortune including his newly acquired social media site X (previously Twitter).
The social media users were quick to take notice of the apparent prophecy showcased by the program.
The X users, who are still mourning the disappearance of the little blue bird of Twitter, may find the forecast worthy of attention.
However, on the other hand, the space enthusiast might find the prediction alarming.
What did ‘The Simpsons’ predict?
The fourth episode of ‘The Simpsons’s’ 35th season, which aired on Sunday, October 29, predicted X getting sold after the owner’s rocket for Mars crashes into the International Space Station.
In the episode titled ‘Thirst Trap: A Corporate Love Story’, a young college dropout CEO named Persephone - a believer in “fake it until you make it" philosophy - gets married to dashing Mr Burns who also funds her dream project.
In the episode it was shown that Persephone was given “a little something special for her birthday” by Mr Burns, per Yahoo! Entertainment.
Looking at the card, Persephone exclaimed, “A Twitter gift card?”
Burns replied, “No, I bought you Twitter, the whole company!” before adding poignantly,. “It was a bargain, the previous owner had to sell it after his self-driving Mars rocket crashed into the international space station.”
The dialogue naturally gained traction on the internet as eagle-eyed fans found similarity with the SpaceX founder Elon Musk’s life.
'The Simpson just warned us that ...'
One of the fans exclaimed, "Is this #Simpson prediction or what?"
"The Simpson just warned us that one of @elonmusk spaceship is going to collide with a US space station … they’re undefeated at calling the future tragedy," said someone else.
