For fans of 'The Seven Deadly Sin', the crux of the series is the Sins fighting and winning the Holy War. Now, with peace restored, they can live out their lives peacefully. However, in 'The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light', an old threat resurfaces and threatens to destroy everything they've worked for. As per the plot synopsis on Netflix — "Meliodas and his friends jump back into action when the new era of peace is threatened by a powerful magical alliance that could spell the end for all."

If you're looking for more anime to binge-watch, you might want to consider series such as 'Yasuke', 'Castlevania', and 'Record of Ragnorok' — all of them pack a whole lot of action.

'The Seven Deadly Sins' Season 4: Five burning questions about the holy war after 'Imperial Wrath of the Gods'

When the giant forge master Dubs and the second king of fairies Dahlia begin to rally armies and attack the holy knights and the seven deadly sins, all hell breaks loose, as there is no explanation for their behaviour. While Dahlia refused to be a part of the holy war, Dubs was made responsible for ending it. However, after taking over the Demon Realm, the two claimed that their mission was to terminate those who ended the war. After a chance meeting between Meliodas and his estranged younger brother Zeldris, they go to the Demon Realm to investigate, only to be attacked by Dahlia and Dubs.

Zeldris is gravely injured, while Meliodas and Elizbeth are captured and locked in a magical space by Dubs. While Zeldris, the new Demon King, rallied his armies to save his brother, back in Britannia, hoards of fairies and giants began to attack the holy knights and the remaining Sins, including destroying King and Diane's wedding. King and Ban soon realise that these armies have been enchanted through weaponry. While the risk seems to have been taken care of momentarily, back in Demon Realm, Meliodas and Zeldris fight Dahlia and Dubs yet again, and this time, they are victorious. However, they soon realised that Dahlia and Dubs were pawns themselves and something bigger is at play.

The Supreme Deity reveals herself to the Sins and the holy knights back in Liones, where she claims that they have to be destroyed for ending the holy war. The war, which was a never-ending power struggle between her and the Demon King, claimed endless lives until The Seven Deadly Sins ended it. As she explained, the only way to harmony was through eternal conflict. However, all the clans had grown weary of bloodshed. After saving the Demon Realm, the Sins try to fight her but seem to be losing until Meliodas and Zeldris join them.

Together, the brothers defeat the Divine Deity, restoring peace to the clans. As Merlin watches from afar, she announces that the Era of Gods has ended and that the Era of Humans, filled with chaos, has begun. However, seeing that the movie does cover the final chapters of the manga, it showcases Meliodas and Elizabeth finally getting married, as the rest of the Sins go their way. Even Zeldris repairs his once broken relationship with his brother. The movie signals the beginning of the end of the series and acts as a catalyst to round off character arcs.

'The Seven Deadly Sins: Cursed by Light' is now streaming on Netflix.
