LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Jennifer Lopez does not seem to have aged a day since her thirties, and an Instagram post showing her facial transformation over the years is proof of that. At 53 years old, the 'Papi' hitmaker has undoubtedly maintained spectacular physical health while also looking younger than most. JLo used to refer to the use of olive oil as her beauty secret. However, experts confirm that there is more to it than that.

A page on Instagram called 'people__before' left her fans speechless after sharing a video that showed Lopez's facial transformation, or lack thereof, over the years. The short clip showed the singer over the years, when she was just two years old, to the present day. It showed that at 53 years old, the star looked incredibly similar to when she was 35 years old. Fans praised the pop star's physical preservation during her adult years and some even stressed that she has aged like a fine wine, as Marca reports.

Jennifer Lopez credits olive oil for her beauty

In an interview with Elle magazine in 2021, J-Lo revealed that there are five things that keep her young: sleep, sunscreen, serums, supplements, and ‘vivir sano’ which is Spanish for 'live healthily'. She also confessed that the secret to her ageless beauty is the use of olive oil. "Some of us had drier hair than others, and they'd take out a bottle of olive oil and they'd put it in your hair. Then it would drip down onto your face, and the next day, your complexion looked like you were 10 years old. Even when I was working in the business, and they would be gluing stuff to my head, and hitting me in the face with a fan at 100 miles per hour on movie sets, I'd come home and lather myself in it," she explained, at the time.

Skincare expert  explains why Jennifer Lopez 'never seems to age'

Dermatologist Dr Dray, a skincare expert, discussed on her YouTube channel why Lopez still looks youthful while in her early 50s. "Is it botox? Is it fillers? Anti-ageing skin care?" she wrote in the description. “There are many other factors that go into skin aging,” Dray said in the video, as per Tyla. “I think people are under the impression that getting botox, fillers, and having cosmetic procedures is really why these people look so good. And it’s more than that.” She then pointed out that JLo has been hugely vocal about wearing sunscreen. Dr Gray also mentioned that our diet "plays a major role" when it comes to aging, adding that Lopez eats on a day-to-day basis.

She added that exercising has also kept the Grammy-nominated artist young for so many years. "Another reason that she looks so good I am willing to put money on is that she is very active. She exercises. She has said this in interviews. Have you ever been to one of her concerts? She dances a lot," she said. Dr Gray concluded her ted talk by highlighting that genetics also play a huge role in aging. "Genetics definitely play a role in how quickly your skin and total body will age," Dray said, adding: "Things in our environment that contribute to ageing of the skin do so largely by generating free radicals that damage proteins and lipids in our skin and the DNA in our skin cells. We have different enzymes in our skin that help combat those free radicals. Some people's genes make it so that their enzymes are better perhaps."
