CENTRAL EUROPE, EUROPE: Set against the backdrop of a fictitious nation, HBO's 'The Regime', portrays the cold reality of politics, with a Chancellor's oppressive demeanour finally wearing thin on the public.
The creative brainchild of Will Tracy, the six-episode miniseries narrates the political turmoil of a Central European nation that is essentially run by a modern-day dictator.
The series shows Elena Vernham (Kate Winslet), who is the chancellor of the country, finally receiving fruits for her overbearing attitude, but sadly, it's not as good as she had hoped for.
In the most recent episode, Elena decided to leave her son Oskar (Louie Mynett) behind while the rebel army wreaked havoc on the palace grounds.
Agnes, her devoted palace manager Agnes (Andrea Riseborough), stepped forward to save the poor child.
However, she paid a price for her loyalty to Elena, and this decision turned out to be disastrous for her.
Agnes decides to move to France with Oskar
The majority of the country's ministries and palace employees have fled the country amid the civil unrest, but Agnes has remained faithful to Elena and has refused to work with the Americans, as demonstrated in the most recent episode.
However, when another palace employee named Peter (Rory Keenan) urged her to seize the opportunity, she was given another chance to flee the never-ending mayhem by travelling to France with Oskar.
Though she wasn't sure what to do, the woman decided to move to France the following day with Oskar after witnessing Elena's ignorance of him.
Agnes rushes back to the palace to rescue Oskar in 'The Regime' Episode 5
Agnes was shocked when rebels broke into the palace grounds and wrecked mayhem inside just as she was deciding to leave the chaos of the country.
Agnes navigates through the rowdy and violent mob as a lure to get Oskar back.
Sadly, in one of the most tragic scenes of the series, the poor woman is shown getting shot as she collapses to the ground and meets her death.
