Women have the notorious reputation of talking about pretty much everything under the sun. But bring up the topic of pleasure and even the most outspoken and bold woman will think twice before expressing her views on it! While the wage gap between the sexes is well-known, the orgasm gap is pretty much almost unheard and unspoken of. According to reports, only 65% women reported that they experienced orgasm during sex. This makes it even more important for the conversations around pleasure to be normalized, but we still refrain from it due to awkwardness.

Thanks to Netflix's upcoming documentary 'The Principles of Pleasure' we can at least open the doors to this important discussion, as women from various walks of life explore what pleasure means to them and why it's high time to view pleasure as not a desire but necessity. If you are curious to know more about the documentary, then keep reading.  Before we get into more details about the Netflix special, if you're interested in watching other similar shows on the theme of sex-positivity and education then check out 'Sexology with Shan Boodram’, 'Sex Education', and 'Sex: Unzipped'.
