BERN, SWITZERLAND: The ongoing biographical drama 'The New Look' streaming exclusively on Apple TV+, delves deep into the lives of fashion luminaries away from the glamorous catwalk.

Created by Todd A Kessler, the series narrates a compelling story set against the backdrop of war-torn Paris.

The ten-part series follows the lives of Christian Dior (Ben Mendelsohn) and Coco Chanel (Juliette Binoche) as they strive to maintain their grip on the fashion business following World War II.

In previous episodes, it's been revealed that Coco has chosen self-exile in the Swiss Alps amid the public outcry over her questionable connections with Germans.

However, her life isn't as orderly as it ought to be, as she is struggling financially.

To achieve monetary benefits, she first chooses to sue her former partners, the Wertheimer brothers. However, in the latest episode, it's revealed that she sneaks into Paris to obtain perfume samples, aiming to open her boutique in Switzerland.

In recent episodes, Coco's dissatisfaction with the Swiss ambiance becomes increasingly apparent, as she longs to return to Paris.

To reignite her career, she meets Carmel Snow (Glenn Close), editor-in-chief of Harper's Bazaar.

Carmel, who holds Coco in great admiration, expresses her eagerness for Coco to make a comeback to Paris.

Coco asserts that the accusations regarding her ties to Germany are nothing but a fabricated attempt to tarnish her reputation.

Amid Coco's struggles, Carmel assures Coco that she will personally ensure her return to Paris, emphasizing the world's need for her creative ideals in the aftermath of World War II.

Desperate to make a comeback, Coco reflects on being warned against her ties with Nazis. Despite the warning, she chose to overlook it, and now she grapples with the repercussions of her decision.

She calls Carmel to discuss the possibility of being featured in an article. However, she is surprised when Carmel states unequivocally that the allegations against her carry substantial evidence, posing a challenge for her to write positively about Coco.

Refusing to back down easily, Coco urges Carmel to visit her and experience her latest fragrances firsthand.

The following scene shows Coco and Carmel standing beside a stunning lake, where Carmel takes in the scent of Coco's perfume and likes it.

Coco, in exchange, asks for a favor to distribute her perfume to influential individuals in Paris, hoping this gesture might create some commotion, potentially leading to her homecoming.

Carmel asks her to deliver the perfume to her hotel, assuring Coco that she will pass them on to influential figures.

'The New Look' episode 8 is now streaming on Apple TV+.
