'The Masked Singer' Season 8: Walrus is actor, singer, and dancer Joey Lawrence; here are the clues
'The Masked Singer' Season 8 Episode 6 was titled '90s Night. The contestants, celebrity guests, and judges were somehow linked to the '90s theme. Some dressed up as '90s icons and some were famous singers from the '90s. In Episode 6, two new masked singers were introduced, Walrus and Milkshake.
Walrus, dressed in a yellow raincoat-like dress, entered the stage with a sweet and cool look. The masked singer donned a yellow and red striped dress with same color boots and hat. The hat had a seagull attached to it. The brown cute-looking Walrus captured the judges' attention mostly with its dancing skills. The first clue that FOX slipped for this masked singer was "fish". But, as soon as Walrus walked on to 'The Masked Singer' stage, it brought several other clues with it. Even after a heart-thumping performance, Walrus was eliminated in the middle of the show. Walrus clues
Walrus clue package revealed that the masked singer has a likeness to "sushi." Moreover, the other clue was that it "comes in three." Another clue dropped while Walrus gave the introduction about its characteristics was tap-dancing skills. The masked singer showed some moves in its introductory clip, showing that the celebrity singer underneath the mask could be a pro dancer as well as being a singer.
Walrus kicked off with the famed '90s song 'Two Princes' by the Spin Doctors. Ken Jeong guessed the celebrity singer under this mask could be John Stamos. However, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg guessed that the masked singer could be Scott Wolf and Nicole Scherzinger went with Mario Lopez. However, none of them seemed to be correct. And, seeing Lawrence under the mask came as a shock to the judges.
Lawrence's tap dancing skill could be a nod to his being on Bob Hope's 'Jolly Christmas Hour 1984'. His dancing skill was perfectly linked to 'The Masked Singer.' Lawrence has been part of several dancing shows including 'Dancing with the Stars.' Moreover, the dancer, singer, and actor were linked to the '90s theme as he was a star back then for his work on 'Blossom' as Joey Russo and on 'Melissa & Joey' as Joe Longo. However, Lawrence is more of an actor and dancer than a singer. He has not performed live for many years, therefore his singing on 'The Masked Singer' was a little off-key. But, still, he managed to maintain the charm with his performance. Lawrence is married to Samantha Cope and they recently announced having a first child together. Moreover, he also has 2 other children with his second wife Chandie Yawn-Nelson.
With Walrus being eliminated, Lambs and Milkshake went forward for the Battle Royale round. However, Milkshake stalled, leaving Lambs to win the episode and once again be titled as queens. 'The Masked Singer' Season 8 releases every Wednesday at 8 pm ET/PT on FOX.
